About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Vaccines Market & Consumer Activation Excellence Director to lead the development and execution of marketing and consumer activation strategies across Growth & Emerging Markets (GEM). This role is pivotal in building marketing capabilities, driving private market activation, and enhancing brand presence and commercial performance in the vaccines sector.

How you will Contribute:

Critical functional knowledge

  • Lead the development and enhancement of marketing capabilities tailored to private markets within the vaccines division.
  • Identify capability gaps and implement a roadmap to elevate internal standards aligned with global external best practices.
  • Drive a customer-centric, insights-driven and externally focused marketing culture.
  • Champion the “Winning Formula Framework” and ensure consistent brand planning across GEM that is insights driven and outcome oriented.
  • Design and execute comprehensive brand plans with a focus on private market activation strategies and measurable tactics.
  • Shape impactful consumer journeys in private markets based on consumer insights, behaviours, market data and trends, and through close collaboration with Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T) and cross-functional team.
  • Pilot and scale consumer activation initiatives across GEM markets.
  • Utilize data analytics and digital technologies to optimize marketing efforts, recognizing the distinctive aspects of private market.
  • Leverage DD&T and analytics to optimize campaign performance.
  • Analyze private market dynamics, regulatory environments, and consumer behaviours to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide strategic input on product positioning, pricing, and market access tailored to private market needs.
  • Establish KPIs to measure marketing effectiveness and adapt strategies accordingly, especially in consumer segments.
  • Directly contribute to GEM P&L, particularly through the Qdenga launch.

Critical business expertise

  • Strong marketing knowledge in either consumer goods or vaccines.
  • Validated experience and knowledge of external customers including patients, prescribers, payers, providers particularly in Brazil and SAM Core Hub.

Nature of Impact:

  • Direct impact to GEM P&L given the importance of Qdenga launch in overall revenue ambition.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent downwards communication skills to attract, lead and motivate talents and align them with global strategy and vision.
  • Excellent upwards communication skills to drive program excellence and engaging functional partners.

Innovation

  • Pragmatic use of digital to build capability and provide deep market and customer insights that are valuable to portfolio management.
  • Out of the box thinking of approaching the Qdenga as an innovative and unprecedented launch.

Role Requirement:

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

  • Extensive knowledge of marketing, distinguished record of managing a brand at local and global/regional level.
  • Digitally savvy.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to deal with decision making processes in complex organizations and generate collaboration and followership.

Critical leadership capabilities

  • Entrepreneurial and proactive management skills and a "can do attitude” to manage fast-growing market.
  • High level of personal maturity and natural authority.
  • Committed to talent development and capability building for sustainable growth.

Critical Success Factors & Key Challenges

  • Proven experiences in marketing, sales, analytics, product management.
  • Local experience in leading complex initiatives and oversight of budgets and key elements of strategic/global projects.

Additional Information

  • Biological and Medical Sciences education or experience preferred.
  • Digital marketing experience in a consumer goods environment preferred.
  • Business knowledge, MBA preferred.
  • Fluent English speaker to ensure effective communication across the region and to Global.
  • More than 8 years of standard-setting performance in this role or a comparable role.
  • Ideally 5 years of vaccines experience.
