About the role:

Join Takeda as a Regional Account Medical Lead (Associate Director) where you will work with Account Management (AM) and serve as the first-line Takeda medical point of contact for key accounts. You will also through a deep understanding of key accounts, develop medical strategies and tactics that result in mutually beneficial partnerships. You will lead cross-functional efforts to deliver a “partnership approach” to pull-through medical strategies and tactics within key accounts. As part of the US Medical team, you will report to the Regional Director, Account Medical Lead Team. This is a field-based role.

How you will contribute:

  • Work closely with commercial Account Management (AM) teams, develop medical strategies and tactics for key accounts by understanding population-management strategies, priorities, challenges, and evidence needs.

  • Develop and lead initiatives from a medical engagement perspective with key accounts in order to facilitate well informed access decisions for their covered populations. Cultivate strong relationships with key medical decision makers (Pharmacy Directors, Medical Directors, VP, C-Suite) at key accounts.

  • Identify partnership opportunities that pairs key external stakeholder needs with available Takeda medical resources (HEOR, Med Ed, Med Info, etc).

  • Engage payer KOLs within key accounts, when appropriate, in discussions related to collaborative research. Develop and submit concept(s) for review and approval, and may include participation on the study team, including potential authorship based on established Takeda policies.

  • Lead effectively Field Medical Matrix partners (MSLs) and internal Medical Affairs experts to meet the need of key accounts for specialized or deep therapeutic area, product, or other scientific expertise.

  • Maintain superior product, disease state, and payer/provider environment and reimbursement expertise as required by scope of TA responsibility.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Advanced scientific or healthcare degree required; doctoral degree preferred. (Health sciences advanced or doctoral degree, such as a PharmD, PhD, MD, NP or DMP/ARNP, etc).

  • Seven (7) years of post-doctoral healthcare, pharmaceutical or managed care experience; or Managed Care/ HEOR fellowship with two years post-doctoral healthcare, pharmaceutical or managed care experience.

  • One (1) year of proven ability to lead cross-functional team to deliver scientific information to payers.

  • Senior level influence and credibility with the ability to engage senior executives.    

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong competence in presenting.  

  • Maintain a command of a large amount of scientific information across multiple therapeutic areas and show effective written/verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • Residency and/or post-doctoral training in a pharmaceutical industry/health system/payer setting is desired

  • Experience conducting research projects in a collaborative fashion with US payers/systems is highly desired

  • Experience delivering high quality presentations on virtual platforms (i.e., MS Teams, Webex and/or Zoom) as well as in-person

Travel/Time Zone Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older with valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record

  • Able to travel 40-60% of the time, including ability to travel overnight and occasionally on weekends

  • Must have authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental

  • Understands that we are an international company as well as they may be working in time zones other than customers and are willing to work outside of traditional hours of operation to accommodate company and customer needs

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$168,700.00 - $265,100.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
