Job Description
About the role:
We are looking for an Upstream Process intern within our biotechnological manufacturing site in Neuchâtel. The earliest starting date is August 2025 and last for 6 months.
How you will contribute:
Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Manager, your planned output of the internship will be to define a method to detect failure during the process based on parameters trends which will allow rapid implementation of corrective actions and to generate data to understand the evolution of substrates in the bioreactor.
As such, you will:
- You will be working in our international, friendly Manufacturing department and will collaborate with different internal departments (Quality, Manufacturing Sciences and Engineering) and external stakeholders (Supplier of the filter cartridges).
- You will be assigned to support the workstream of a major project dealing with Nanofiltration & substrate evolution in Bioreactor to monitor metabolism using Raman probe.
- Using your theoretical and/or practical knowledge of statistical and numerical methods you will help analyze/investigate/create reports on integrity test data of nano filters and define standard testing trends. You will as well review and assess nanofiltration parameters throughout the process and identify the steps of filtration and the associated standard parameters using statistical analysis.
What you bring to Takeda:
- Curiosity and collaboration skills will ensure you effectively handle your project and make a valuable impact
- Active enrollment at a university or a university of applied sciences in a Master level program in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering / Biotechnology, Mathematics with a solid understanding of biotechnology production processes, or a recent graduate (within the last 12 months).
- Using appropriate communication, you will provide updates and reports on your activities, essential for steering your work and integrating into the team
- Must be authorized to work in Switzerland without the need for additional immigration sponsorship, housing allowance or relocation requirements.
- Preferably skills in analytics, Matlab, MS Office, Python, Power BI, proactive skills.

Important Considerations:
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to create quality products and we aim to create a safe environment for our team members. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product or putting anyone at the site in harm's way. In this role, you may:
- Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
- Need to remove all make-up, jewellery, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
- Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers that may require respiratory protection.
