Job Description

JOB FUNCTION:                                                   

The Medical Education Specialist is responsible for the operational management and implementation of medical education activities within the Medical Affairs department. This role collaborates closely with the Medical Operational Excellence and Therapeutic Area teams. Among his responsibilities are organizing regular medical education activities and overseeing the coordination of HCP sponsorships for third-party meetings and events. The specialist ensures alignment with the strategic direction defined by therapeutic areas and brand teams, while maintaining compliance with company and industry regulations and standards.

Additionally, the Medical Education Specialist will contribute to the development of other educational projects and materials, supporting the execution, and participating in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing overall medical education strategies.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Collaborate with the therapeutic area (TA) teams and external partners to develop medical education programs aligned with the strategy and medical education objectives, ensuring that educational programs meet the needs of the target audience.
  • Manage the implementation of medical education programs, including workshops, medical tutorials, scientific HCP training or third-party scientific events (sponsorship for HCP attendance at national and international congresses) together with TA teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (therapeutic areas medical and commercial teams) and external vendors to deliver impactful educational initiatives.
  • Act as the operational point of contact for all educational initiatives and HCP sponsorships, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder alignment, managing all aspects related to event project management.
  • Ensure effective execution of medical education events (virtual or onsite) together with the medical TA team.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the impact of educational activities.
  • Ensure that all events and activities are carried out in compliance with regulatory guidelines, and company policy.

  • To report to pharmacovigilance department any adverse event or any special situation/ important safety information at the time of becoming aware of it, following company’s PV internal procedures.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

Education:

  • Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare field (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD)
  • Advanced in English (spoken and written).
  • Experience with digital tools and event management platforms is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical education, medical affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience working across functional teams
  • Good understanding of healthcare and pharmaceutical industry standards.
  • Familiarity with the processes and compliance requirements related to Medical Education activities and sponsorships.
