Role Objective:

As the Business Unit Head, your main mission is to set the vision and strategy, ensuring successful execution of brand and key account plans.

You´ll lead teams to deliver exceptional patient experiences, exceed customer expectations, and drive performance with innovative sales and digital marketing strategies.

You´ll also take ownership of the P&L for the BU, implement patient programs, and foster a customer-centric mindset, as well as uphold compliance with laws, regulations, company strategies, and Takeda's corporate philosophy.

Accountabilities:

-Leadership Responsibility for Sales & Marketing Team:

  • Develops direct reports and promotes a cooperative work environment.
  • Ensures customer-centricity and prioritizes patient outcomes.
  • Sets targets, monitors achievements, and coaches employees.
  • Hires, develops, and retains commercial staff in collaboration with HR and GM.
  • Personally drives, in coordination with Public Affairs and Access team, the Access Priorities for PDT portfolio. Maintains Takeda's reputation in the Hem/PDT, HAE & Transplant area.
  • Fully responsible for local Hem/PDT, HAE & Transplant BU business.

-Financial & Strategic Planning:

  • Develops BU strategy in cooperation with cross-functional teams.
  • Implements policies to achieve revenue and profit targets.
  • Establishes financial plans and informs brand strategy.
  • Assesses market dynamics and develops competitive brand strategies.

-Sales Force Planning and Management:

  • Builds account management capabilities and drives key account management.
  • Sets Sales Force Effectiveness standards and monitors achievements.
  • Develops Sales Force concept and incentive system.

-Project Management & Cross-Functional Cooperation:

  • Implements cross-functional plans and promotes innovative commercial programs.
  • Collaborates with Medical and Value & Access functions.
  • Collaborate with DDT and Marketing to develop digital marketing campaigns and Omnichannel strategies.

-Customer Activities:

  • Develops professional relationships with key customers, KOLs, and scientific societies.
  • Identifies new opportunities to meet customer needs and supports initiatives.
  • Collaborates with patient networks, designs patient programs and collaborates on patient journey initiatives.
  • Utilizes remote and digital touchpoints to enhance customer and patient engagement.
  • Leverages customer portals to provide medical information and service offerings.

-Administration, Monitoring, and Controlling:

  • Monitors budget, resource allocation, and ensures alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Monitors competitor activities and ensures adherence to quality standards and legal requirements.

-Cross-Country Collaboration:

  • Shares best practices and customer insights among Takeda teams.
  • Represents the BU in regional and global meetings.
  • Collaborates with global and regional teams in developing strategies for the Hem/PDT, HAE & Transplant BU.

Skills and Leadership Capabilities:

-Education and Experience:

  • University Degree qualification.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • At least 10 years of resources leading and management in equivalent roles.

-Skills:

  • Successful launch experience in Hematology, Transplant or Specialty market and scientific background is preferred but not a pre-requisite. However, it is crucial that the candidate is familiar with the business model where BU products play.
  • Proven track record of understanding customers’ needs and able to translate their needs into highly impactful tactics and solutions.
  • Inspires and leads Hem/PDT, HAE & Transplant (and the wider Takeda organization) to deliver innovative solutions and services to be recognized as an excellence in the Hem/PDT, HAE & Transplant area.
  • Proficiency in delivering a KAM business model in the market where it operates.
  • Builds a collaborative network of relationships with people in a variety of functions, roles, and locations and leverages formal and informal networks to accomplish ambitious goals.
  • Creates an open and supportive environment in which learning is encouraged and fosters team/talent development by coaching individuals and providing constructive feedback to establish high-performing teams.
  • Business acumen and ability to manage a P&L.
  • Strong expectation on competitive marketing strategies
