Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager 3PL Operations

Location: Lexington, MA

About the role:

  • Coordination of the order management and logistics activities at a Third party logistics providers. 

  • Responsible for data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support Logistics management.

  • Ensure uninterrupted, cost effective movement and delivery of goods throughout the Supply Chain.

  • Provides expertise and implements standardized processes to maximize quality and reliability while reducing transportation costs and increasing customer satisfaction.

  • Act as a change agent within the function and create an atmosphere of continuous improvement.  

How you will contribute:

  • Create/design complex business tools and methods to distribute information to customers and suppliers. Control logistics process and develop strategies to ensure timely receipt, delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Manage and lead logistics projects ensuring timelines are met, budgets are met and compliance to regulations

  • Support in the development and adherence to expense budget

  • Manage logistics pipeline between supplier and customer through analyzing raw data from numerous sources.

  • Educate and consult with internal & external stakeholders to increase service levels, meet expectations, and encourage open communications through developing trusting relationships.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through strategic thinking, critical thinking and analysis.

  • Design, lead and implement programs cross-functionally to achieve improvements, with little or no supervision

  • Coordinates routine operational meetings to address current challenges, on time performance, accuracy, project status, etc.

  • Supports the business through ad-hoc queries, and maintains reports from a variety of resources as specific to department or organizational needs.

  • Consistently maintain an inspection/audit ready status throughout the function.

  • Support month end financial close for regional W&D costs and development of cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models.

  • Support SAP interfaces by monitoring for IDOC failures

  • Manages strategic relationship with 3PLs that provide services to US and PR Customers

  • Maintains real time awareness of external influences such as regulations, weather and labor issues

  • Oversee generation and distribution of reports for key performance indicators, identifies trends and key issues and shares regular operational performance summary

  • Acting Designated Representative (DR) for Takeda legal entities in support of state Board of Pharmacy state licensing as necessary.

  • Ensure that all training metrics and curriculm requirements are met.

  • Full compliance with regulatory agencies and governing bodies in association with rules, regulations, licensing and reporting requirements (FDA, DEA, cGMP, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, EEOC, etc). Alert management of any potential deviations or infractions in a timely manner.

  • Compliance with all relative SOP’s. Oversee that SOP’s are maintained and edited to reflect any operational changes.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor degree; Business, Supply Chain, Finance or Engineering or equivalent work experience.

  • 4-6 years of relevant industry experience in  Supply Chain, with Distribution and Logistics management including controlled temperature (cold-chain) logistics of cGMP regulated materials preferred, Pharmaceutical experience would be ideal.

  • Complete understanding of relevant DEA, FDA, OSHA, EEOC

  • Strong communication skills to manage stakeholders across levels & across countries.

  • Must be effective at communicating at all levels of the organization and be able to coach/direct the activities of others.

  • Strong ability to present ideas with clarity, conviction and confidence.

  • SAP ERP experience.

  • Proven record of delivering results and understanding the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (i.e., six sigma, Lean).

  • APICS Certification would be ideal.

Important Considerations:

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
