We are looking for a
Field Medical Advisor (m/f/d) – Oncology (Initial 1-Year Contract)
in full time at the location Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.
Primarily a maternity leave replacement for our current Medical Advisor, we also need bright minds with creativity and flexibility for strategic pre-launch activities for upcoming indications and product launches. - what talent do you have?
Acting as a strategic, scientific partner in Oncology, the primary role objectives of the Field Medical Advisor are to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, exchange scientific information and collect medical insights (through evidence generation and medical education activities), initiate patient related activities and enhance compliance and ethics. This position reports to the Medical Lead. In this exciting role you will be making a difference for patients suffering from various oncological conditions, for their families and caregivers but also to healthcare professionals. The therapeutic area of Oncology, both with an enormous unmet educational need among healthcare professionals and an unmet treatment need among patients, offers a highly purposeful and rewarding professional environment.
Your tasks in detail:
Acts as a strategic scientific expert, who contributes to strategies and activities and develops materials for exchange of scientific information
Works collaboratively with internal, cross-functional stakeholders to align strategic medical and scientific initiatives as well as through training, material review and ad-hoc support
Translates scientific knowledge and insights about disease and treatment landscape into strategies and practical application and present medical data to key stakeholders in the most efficient way (e.g., through Omni Channel Engagement) leveraging understanding of their unmet needs
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with our external experts and stakeholders
Perform mapping and profiling of relevant external experts and stakeholders in current and future therapeutic areas of interest
Develops (inter)national accredited Continuous Medical Education (CME) activities for health care professionals, together with the relevant medical experts
Assist in field execution of medical strategies and tactics
Your profile:
Minimum of MSc (MD, PharmD, or PhD preferred) in biomedical sciences or related degree in biological sciences
Several years’ work experience in pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs or equivalent
Strong knowledge and experience in Oncology is preferred
Fluent in Dutch and very good in English
A personality that encourages cross-functional work in the account team, combined with a clear account leadership, responsibility, initiative, and commitment
Demonstrated ability to convert clinical landscape and therapy knowledge into successful activities
High level of strategic and analytical thinking and an entrepreneurial mind-set combined with solid business acumen
Experience in communicating (and negotiating) with healthcare decision-makers and managing complex networks
Knowledge of and is compliant with laws and regulations regarding studies (GCP, GDPR, WMO etc.)
Understanding of the dynamics of the Oncology environment and the cross-channel business model; agile in using social media and new digital technologies
Driver’s License B (80% in field or with external stakeholders)
