Job Description
About the Role:
This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for 18 months as part of a special project at Takeda, with the potential for extension based on project progress and business needs.
Reporting directly to the Tech Transfer Manager, Small Molecule Operations, the Tech Transfer Engineer will play a key role in supporting the transfer of a new four-step process into TILGC P1. The Engineer will lead tech transfer activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition from the sending unit to the receiving unit—covering both engineering and PPQ batches. This role involves close collaboration with validation, manufacturing, and quality departments to ensure alignment and successful execution throughout the transfer process.
How you will contribute:
- Coordinate and implement all tech transfer activities between the sending unit and the receiving unit, considering materials, equipment and methods.
- Develop technology transfer documentation and protocols (e.g., process descriptions, validation plans)
- Lead trouble shooting and problem-solving during engineering batches ensuring appropriate responses implemented prior to PPQ campaigns.
- Analyse and mitigate risks associated with process changes during transfer.
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams including Production, CAPEX Projects, Finance, quality control, Supply Chain and Global ownership functions to ensure project success.
- Study production data to ensure the transfer process meets efficiency and consistency metrics.
- Investigate quality events as they arise and prepare deviation reports using site Trackwise system.
- Provide regular updates to the TT Manager regarding milestones and challenges.
Skills & qualifications :
- Degree (Masters preferred) in Engineering, Science or related field (Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology)
- 5+ years’ experience in process engineering roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong Knowledge of API processes
- Experience working with cross functional teams.
- Deep knowledge of GMP procedures and practices.
- Strong in organising and managing complex project activities.
- Ability to write detailed transfer reports, risk assessments and validation documents.
- Ability to work under pressure & managing conflicting tasks at the same time.
- Problem Solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
