Job Description
About the role:
The Data Engineering Engineer works closely with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high-quality data pipelines that drive analytic solutions. This role enables advanced data-driven decision-making capabilities by generating insights from connected data, contributing to Takeda's mission.
How you will contribute:
* Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals
* Define data requirements, gather and mine large-scale structured and unstructured data, and validate data using various data tools in the Big Data Environment
* Support Data Scientists in data sourcing and preparation to visualize data and synthesize insights of commercial value
* Lead the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and processes for analytic data engineering to improve productivity
* Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives
* Collaborate with AI/ML Engineers to create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity
* Advise, consult, mentor, and coach other data and analytic professionals on data standards and practices
What you bring to Takeda:
* 1-3 years of experience applying advanced techniques in data engineering and modeling, capable of handling complex data systems.
* Demonstrates deep understanding of software development methodologies and data structures.
* Expertise in distributed data technologies like Spark or Hadoop, with experience working on Databricks for large-scale data processing.
* Skilled in system integration, ensuring seamless data flow across various platforms.
* Proficient in programming languages such as Python and/or C++, tailored for large-scale data handling.
* Advanced SQL skills, capable of crafting complex queries and managing databases efficiently.
* Experienced in deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms using tools like Kubernetes.
* Develops and maintains data pipelines with high standards of data integrity and accuracy.
* Engages in problem-solving to optimize data storage and retrieval processes.
* Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to meet data analytics needs.
