Job Description
Objective / Purpose:
The Global Biologics Biological Generation and Analytics binding team is responsible for broad set of binding characterization for multiple platforms spanning thousands of molecules to screen to IND assays on final lead. The Associate Scientific Director is responsible for both generating and analyzing detailed biophysical studies and understanding antigen characterization. The role provides strong project and resource management expertise as well as critical mentorship of other team members. This scientific leadership role will include representing the function on cross-functional project teams, and designing lab experiments and running experiments.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement robust binding characterization interaction methods tailored to advance specific biological programs, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with program objectives.
- Provide mentorship to junior team members, focusing on binding characterization and data interpretation to foster their professional growth and competency.
- Proactively collaborate closely with project teams to align lab activities and processes to strategic program goals and take initiative in establishing processes that drive efficiency .
- Engage with cross-functional teams, contributing expert knowledge to design, and execute binding characterization and developability assessments that meet the precise objectives of each program.
- Actively participate in laboratory work, delivering accurate and reliable data to achieve program milestones and ensure progression toward defined goals.
Education & Competencies
- Proven Expertise: Deep expertise in binding characterization, particularly utilizing Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) techniques. Additional proficiency in AlphaLISA and FRET is highly desirable, broadening the scope of analytical capabilities.
- Method Optimization: Strong proficiency in understanding and analyzing complex binding interactions, with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize methodologies across various modalities, ensuring high-quality and reliable results.
- Data Management and Communication: Skilled in organizing complex datasets, interpreting results, and presenting findings in a clear, concise, and impactful manner that effectively communicates key insights to stakeholders.
- PhD degree in scientific discipline with 7+ years experience or
- MS with 13+ years experience or
- BS with 15+ years experience
- Minimum 5 years industry experience required

$153,600.00 - $241,340.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
