Job Description
Takeda Vaccines is looking for a Scientist to join our Critical Reagents and Biochemistry team in our Cambridge, MA office .
How you will contribute:
As a Scientist you will join our biophysical characterization / critical reagents / analytical development lab. You will be a highly responsible and self-motivated individual supporting the development and manufacturing of Dengue vaccine. If you have previous experience with working with viruses, that is a plus.
You will focus on:
Characterization of critical reagents (mAbs, mAb conjugates, etc.)
Development and application of analytical methods for characterization of Dengue virus drug substance and drug product,
Lab operations and maintenance (ensuring equipment readiness and maintenance, ordering and tracking the materials and supplies, etc).
You will contribute to execution of biophysical and biochemical characterization of different biologics (nucleic acids, proteins, viruses etc.)
You will collaborate cross-functionally with Analytical Development and Quality Control teams, as well as colleagues from other sites or external organizations (such as CROs), to drive projects forward.
You will author or co-author internal operational protocols and external publications.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Ph.D. or M.S. in Protein Chemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Pharmaceutical Sciences) with 3-5 years of relevant biopharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
Hands-on experience in protein biochemical and biophysical characterization, developability assessment, and stress stability studies in support of formulation development.
Detailed knowledge of protein structure, protein stability, biophysical characterization, formulation screening, and product development.
Strong expertise in protein biophysical and biochemical characterization techniques, including but not limited to: chromatography (SEC, IEX, RP, HIC, etc.), Thermal / conformational stability techniques (DSC, DSF), Colloidal Stability / Particle sizing, counting, and characterization techniques (NTA, DLS, SEC-MALS, aFFF-MALS, Zeta Potential, etc.), spectroscopy (UV-vis, fluorescence, NMR, Raman, FTIR), capillary electrophoresis (CE) or SDS-PAGE Lab-on-a-chip (GX2), Mass Spectrometry (sample prep/digestion, peptide mapping, host cell protein characterization, virus maturity characterization).
Individual must be willing and able to learn new technologies as needed.
Experience in Molecular and Cellular Biology would be a plus.
Knowledge of bioconjugation can also be an advantage.
Demonstrated track record of independent thinking, creativity, and scientific accomplishment.

$111,800.00 - $175,670.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
