Job Description

• The core purpose of this position is to develop and deploy value-based innovations/solutions aligned with the R&D Quality strategy and roadmap to support business stakeholders to meet their quality compliance responsibilities
• Oversee delivery of digital project pipeline and manage team responsible for execution with integrated stage-gate governance at each project phase. Ensure the team gathers requirements and conducts meaningful analysis to develop end-to-end solutions, leveraging best Takeda DD&T and best industry practices.
• Stewards the development and implementation of R&D Quality Strategic Digital Roadmap in alignment with stakeholder priorities.
• Inspire and educate the organization on digital technologies and its applications to mitigate risk and improve decision-making

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Identify innovation opportunities in partnership with R&D Quality stakeholders
• Employ a standardized methodology to collect ideas/ challenges where technology could be deployed and implement processes that support the delivery of innovative work across the organization
• Evaluate a solution including developing cost-benefit analysis for the solution, gaining stakeholder approval, and accountability for working with R&D Quality organization.


Job Description / Role Profile:
• Ensuring development and timely delivery of the projects including escalating or resolving roadblocks where needed to enable at-pace delivery
• Advise and collaborate with business stakeholders on new digital ideas/requests, ensuring a comprehensive business case, outcomes and requirements for prioritization are brought to the appropriate governance
• Orchestrate delivery of digital projects by coordinating activities across project teams and stakeholders bringing hands-on business and technology experience
• Partner closely with DDT functions to evaluate use of fit-for-purpose technology to drive value and improve compliance (including advanced analytics, IoT, AI and ML tools). The ability to stay up to speed on modern data techniques, understand how to apply them to business problems.
• Oversee designing, executing, testing and delivering informative digital solutions by gathering business requirements and user stories.
• Oversee digital solution portfolio, acting as delivery lead and ensuring the digital governance framework is followed.
• Provide strategic direction and guidance to drive improvements and predictive capabilities for the function
• Ensure complex analysis are performed using modern Data Science techniques to explore feasibility of various business use-cases against structured or unstructured data and report results back to generate insights to Takeda.
• Provide leadership and expertise in constructing data and executing analysis for feature detection, retrospective and predictive modelling, within complex business environments and IT systems.
• Guide the R&D Quality data strategy by empowering the team to create data products to support business users with real-time decision making.
• Ensure strategies are in place for high adoption of the digital solutions with focus on solution usability, user experience, data integrity, user training and go-live support.
• Lead and develop standards and best practices for R&D QMS data pipeline, ensuring the team prepares, blends, and cleanses data from multiple sources to design extracts for optimal use.
• Coach, mentor, and educate team members and capable business stakeholders on digital solutions, championing modern techniques and best practices across all projects while raising awareness and growing expertise.
• Understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and other advanced techniques that may support R&D Quality digital roadmap. Ability to stay up to speed on modern data techniques, understand how to apply them and constantly demonstrate how and where to apply these new methods.

Education & Competencies:
•Minimum requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, other quantitative sciences eg. Information/data science, engineering etc
o 8+ years of increasing responsibility and experience in the tech/biopharma/biotech industry in the IT, business functions or other support areas
o 5+ years of experience in leading digital transformation programs biopharma/biotech industry including conceptualizing and deploying AI/GenAI technologies or 5+ years of experience with data semantic layer definition, data modelling, data visualization.

Job Description / Role Profile:
o Advanced understanding of data architecture and data management.
o Prior people-management experience

Preferred requirements:
o Advanced degree in Computer science or other quantitative sciences or Engineering or related field
o Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies including building Jira/Kanban/scrum boards
o Solid experience in digital transformation, data integration, data modelling, modern database query languages, and AWS cloud technologies
o Experience with Business Intelligence Reports, visualization solutions, and designing and analyzing business and technical models

Desired skills & competencies:
o At least 3 years of experience working in cross-functional team and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of departmental and/or multi-departmental analytics initiatives.
o Proven leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills, coupled with a demonstrated ability to solve problems and drive impactful change.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$174,500.00 - $274,230.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
