GOALS:
- Responsible for line management of assigned Site Budgeting and Contracting (SB&C) staff, as well as defining, developing, and delivery of the Site Budgeting and Contracting plan and directives.
- Provide guidance to staff and oversee the SB&C processesincluding site budget setup, negotiation parameters and escalation management.
- Directly support priority or highly complex projects within Study Startup.
- Champion the creation and implementation of innovative processes, methodologies, data and technologies that will ensure ongoing delivery of valued SB&C Services.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for line management, mentoring, and development of assigned SB&C staff.
- Partners with CRO's, Clinical Operations teams, and TAU partners to improve overall SB&C metrics and implement processes.
- Provides guidance, oversight, and training to the SB&C team delivering activities in support of Clinical Programs, including data and methodologies to drive global budget and contracting strategies, study start-up planning, and modeling.
- Ensures consistent standards are applied to the SB&C process across project portfolios and supports continuous improvement activities while developing and implementing TA-aligned strategies / approaches.
- Drives the creation and implementation of innovative solutions to improve processes and accelerate SB&C negotiations and study start-up timelines.
- Promptly recognize and remediate potential delays, and escalate non-performance as needed.
- Develop resourcing plan to ensure achievement of SB&C tasks aligned to study startup timelines.
- Serves as point of escalation and assist in resolution of issues identified by Takeda or CRO staff during the start-up process.
- Act as a role model for Takeda’s values.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BS degree or international equivalent required, advanced degree preferred.
- 8 or more years in clinical research site contracting and budgeting with evidence of increasing responsibility within a pharmaceutical company, CRO or relevant industry vendor.
- 5 or more years of direct responsibility in global site budgeting and contracting oversight and/or negotiation.
- Experience in line management and working in a matrix environment.
- Proficiency with software models and database structures.
- Expertise in principles driving SB&C tasks and site start-up strategies.
- Direct experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related field required.
- Ability to strongly demonstrate, interpret, explain, represent, and drive unbiased data insights into SB&C tasks globally.
- Ability to develop deep insights, uncover unmet needs, drive innovation, inspire, develop, collaborate and lead within a global matrixed team.
- Ability to explain data, facilitate decision making processes to be data driven.

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
