Job Description
For more than 70 years, we have supplied routine vaccines to help protect the health of people in Japan including for measles, rubella and mumps. Today, we're expanding our global vaccine business by relying on innovation to tackle some of the world's most challenging infectious diseases, such as dengue, COVID-19 and pandemic influenza.
Our team brings an outstanding track record and a wealth of knowledge in global vaccine development and manufacturing to advance a pipeline of vaccines to help address some of the most pressing public health needs.

How You Will Contribute:
- Design and perform infection experiments, develop and perform multicolor flow cytometry assay to identify inherent differences viral protein expression
- Interacting with cross-functional teams and presenting data in small and large group settings
- Maintain an organized inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and equipment.
- Participate in the upkeep of cell culture experiments, including learning sterile technique, media changes and overall viability of cultures.
- Learn design of experiments, data collection, and analysis
- Assists with the regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment to ensure optimal performance and experimental accuracy.
Internship Development Opportunities:
- Intern will have the opportunity to learn about immunoassay development of vaccine related projects in an industry setting. Intern will be able to learn new techniques and expand their expertise in immunology and vaccine research.
Job Requirements:
- This is an in-person position located in Cambridge, MA
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in bachelor’s or masters program graduating December 2025 or later majoring in Biology or Biochemistry
- Cell culture, Immunoassay experience (ELISA, ELISPOT, Flow Cytometry) (preferred, not required)
- MS Office Suite
- JMP (preferred, not required)
- GraphPad (preferred, not required)
- Flowjo software (preferred, not required)
- Scientific presentations
- Collaboration/working on a team
- Working independently and independent decision making
- Communication capability
- Highly organized and have experience maintaining detailed records
Internship Eligibility
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
- The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
- Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

Boston, MAU.S. Hourly Wage Range:
$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
Paid sick time

Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
