About the role:
As a Technical Lead in the Donor Engagement Platform (DEP) space within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will lead the development and enhancement of DEP web applications and mobile apps (Android and iOS) built on ReactJS for the front-end and Node.js for the back end. The web application is hosted on the Heroku platform and utilizes services like Heroku Redis, Heroku Kafka, Heroku Postgres, and Heroku Connect. Additionally, the DEP system uses DRUPAL as a Content Management System (CMS) and integrates with Google Analytics and Google Tags.
This role requires a strong technical background, leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset to drive the project to success. You will establish and enforce best practices, lead the delivery of scalable and secure solutions, and ensure that the execution aligns with critical project/business objectives. You will also be instrumental in fostering a culture of technical and engineering proficiency, mentoring a team of software developers and data engineers.
Collaborating closely with business stakeholders and global leadership, you will ensure that the team’s efforts enhance business capabilities and drive forward the strategic goals of PDT as well as Takeda. Your leadership will be key in advancing the technology landscape to support the evolving needs of the global marketplace.
This position will align to External Experience of the ICC and report to the PDT Delivery Lead for strategic direction as well as day-to-day management until the role of Donor Engagement Delivery Lead is filled within Takeda ICC, post which the reporting and managerial responsibilities will be transitioned accordingly.
How you will contribute:
- Responsible for designing, solutioning, and planning the execution of projects.
- Oversee broader teams covering multiple projects to ensure cohesive progress.
- Effectively communicate project status, challenges, and milestones to key stakeholders, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance and ensuring best practices are followed.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of web applications, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable architectures for web applications and event-based systems.
- Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other stakeholders, to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development processes, architectures, and code.
- Optimize application performance and ensure scalability.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a similar field required. Master's degree in a similar field would be a plus
- 8-10 years of experience in full stack development with a focus on JavaScript frameworks.
- Strong experience with ReactJS / React Native and NextJS, including components, hooks, and state management.
- Experience with deploying and managing applications on the Heroku platform, including services like Heroku Redis, Heroku Apache Kafka, Heroku Postgres, and Heroku Connect.
- Proficiency in Node.js, Nestjs and ASYNC API Knowledge.
- Experience with Front-end Technologies such as HTML5, CSS.
- Experience with developing mobile applications using Xcode and Android Studio for Android and iOS.
- Proficiency with Git or other version control tools like GitHub Advanced Security.
- Strong understanding of data management, segmentation, and Personalization techniques, and Meta CAPI for cross-cloud integrations.
- Familiarity with JFrog for artifact management, New Relic for application performance monitoring, and Paper Trail for log management is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Librato for metrics and monitoring, GraphQL for API development is necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred requirements:
- Experience with DRUPAL or similar content management systems.
- Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tags.
- Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with agile development practices like Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and experience with design tools.
- Experience with project management tools like Jira or Trello.
