About the role:

As a SoftwareTesterin theDonorEngagement Platform(DEP)space within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit,you willbe responsible forquality assurance, ensuring each software product adheres to the highest standards and meets specified requirements. Your contributions will be crucial in enhancing our testing methodologies andmaintainingstandard operating procedures. Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, you will design and execute test cases and scenarios that cover functional, non-functional, and negative aspects ofDEPSystem. 

By planning, execution, and reporting of testing activities to ensure the product / feature meets all specifications and requirements, this role directly contributes to PDT’s ability to harness data effectively, enhancing decision-making capabilities,and ultimately, competitiveadvantage in the market. You will be adoptingcutting-edgetechnologies and methodologies which will help Takeda drive innovation, adapt to new opportunities, and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape. 

This position will align toTesting and Validation Chapterof the ICC and initially report to theFunctionalDelivery Leadfor strategic direction as well as day-to-day management. 

How you will contribute:

  • Ability to independently own and execute the tasks assigned whileproviding assistance tojunior team members asrequired

  • Ensure high quality outputs incl. assuming responsibility for the work of junior team members

  • Develop detailed test plans based on requirements and design specifications. 

  • Write detailed test cases and scenarios based on requirements and design documents.

  • Execute manual and automated test cases, report defects, and track them to closure.

  • Review scripts and plan and perform execution.

  • Be able to define success and failure oftestbased on monitoring.

  • Define monitoring strategy based on application architecture and client-side monitoring.

  • Assess application / system / infrastructure logs.

  • Work closely with development, product, and business teams to understand requirements,design effective teststrategiesandensure quality standards are met.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports.

  • Perform regression testing to verify that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.

  • Stay updated with the latest testing tools, frameworks, and best practices. Participate in improving the testing process and workflows.

  • Communicate test results, progress, and risks to stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Collaborate with QA teams effectively, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.

  • Should be able to work out of the box to solve issues arising during scripting and execution.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 3-5years ofexperience as a QA, with hands-onexpertiseinmanual testing methodologies & practices 

  • Experience with automation testing with TOSCA /Seleniumand performance testing with JMeter andLoadrunner.

  • Experience with defect management tools like JIRA.

  • Experience with basic SQL to query databases tovalidatedata and back-end functionality. 

  • Understanding ofAgile Methodologies as most teams work in Agile. 

  • Knowledge of Git code versioning. 

  • Proficiencyin defect tracking and management tools

  • Good understanding of distributed load testing.

  • Able to perform root cause analysis.

  • Ability to handle multiple QA teams anddemonstrateteam management skills. 

  • Demonstrate ability to interpret and work with data (e.g., dashboards, reports, data quality concepts) and understanding of AI/ML fundamentals to adapt to emerging technology trends,identifyopportunities for intelligent automation/insights and make data-informed decisions.

  • Strong communicationand problem-solving skills.Ability to articulate issues and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred requirements:

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes (using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).

  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and how testing fits into the pipeline.

  • Experience with mobile testing tools like Appium.

  • Understanding ofthe specific domain (e.g., healthcare, finance) can be beneficial.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based systems like AWS is a plus.
