About the Role:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for building and evolving our DevSecOps capabilities from the ground up. You will lead efforts to design a secure, scalable, and automated CI/CD pipeline, with a focus on integrating security at every step of the process. This hands-on leadership role requires a combination of deep technical knowledge and a strategic approach to building robust, future-proof infrastructure systems. You will collaborate closely with development, security, and operations teams to ensure the highest levels of security, performance, and scalability for our cloud-native applications, aligning with the Infrastructure and Hosting chapter of the ICC. You’ll report to the ICC PDT Infrastructure lead for strategic direction.

How You Will Contribute:

End-to-End DevSecOps Ownership

• Design, build, and maintain secure and efficient pipelines, integrating security at every stage of the software delivery lifecycle.
• CI/CD Automation: Lead the automation of deployment processes, ensuring zero downtime deployments, continuous integration, and rapid delivery.
• Security Integration: Embed security checks and protocols throughout the pipeline, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and policies.
• DevSecOps Design & Architecture: Architect and implement a comprehensive DevSecOps framework, ensuring security is integrated into CI/CD from the early stages of development.

Innovative AI-Driven Solutions

• Leverage expertise in generative AI (genAI) to innovate automation and process improvements in our infrastructure.
• GenAI Integration: Implement and explore generative AI technologies to automate infrastructure processes and optimize resource allocation.

Hands-on Leadership

• Actively code, automate, and solve complex technical challenges. Provide guidance to junior engineers and lead code reviews.
• Lead and mentor junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.

Infrastructure and Cloud Management

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build and automate infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation to deliver scalable, secure, and repeatable solutions.
• Cloud Platform Expertise: Design and manage multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) focusing on security, scalability, and high availability.
• Future-Proof Infrastructure: Design scalable, flexible, and adaptable infrastructure to stay ahead of technological changes.
• Disaster Recovery & Backups: Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure the resilience and availability of services.
• Performance & Cost Optimization: Continuously monitor and fine-tune infrastructure for cost savings and performance improvements, optimizing resource usage without compromising reliability.

Monitoring, Logging & Collaboration

• Monitoring, Logging & Alerting: Implement and maintain systems like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog for proactive issue detection and rapid incident response.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with developers, security, and product teams to ensure alignment on infrastructure needs, performance goals, and security requirements.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer, with a strong focus on building and managing secure CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Expertise in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Proven experience in building DevSecOps solutions, with a focus on security automation and integrating security tools (e.g., Snyk, SonarQube, Aqua Security) into the CI/CD process.
• Hands-on expertise in Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift), and utilizing Helm for application deployment and management.
• Experience with Dapr or similar tools (Istio, Linkerd) for enhancing microservices development and operational efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI (genAI) and its application in automation and infrastructure management.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in languages like Python, Bash, or Go.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical/Functional Expertise

• Broad and demonstrable knowledge of Infrastructure and AWS platforms, including serverless, containers, and modern application hosting.
• Firm and practical experience/competency with Infrastructure Security Best Practices.
• Understanding of applicable regulatory compliance requirements surrounding PHI, PII, and GxP.

Complexity

• Supports project work as assigned by contributing to infrastructure tasks, collaborating with teams, and ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes.
• Functions as a global resource to teams in the US by providing expert infrastructure support across various projects and products, navigating a diverse mix of business environments and internal/external stakeholder needs.
• This role involves adapting to different cultural contexts, aligning with global business strategies, and addressing complex requirements to ensure seamless integration and effective collaboration across regions.

Preferred Requirements

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent certification for other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP).
• Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm) and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001) and how to implement compliant infrastructure solutions.
