POSITION: Operations Support Specialist
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. is seeking an Operations Support Specialist with the following duties: support web-based applications(.Net,Java), ensuring seamless operation of customer-facing and internal cloud applications; provide round-the-clock production support with a focus on automation, scalability, security, and application resiliency; troubleshoot performance bottlenecks using monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and CloudWatch, while maintaining comprehensive documentation to streamline cloud operations and drive efficiency; lead and support Major Incident Management (MIM) processes, ensuring swift resolution of application and infrastructure issues to minimize production downtime; manage AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFront) to ensure optimal performance and high availability, along with monitoring and managing containerized microservices in Kubernetes environments; lead cloud migration initiatives, transitioning legacy systems to cloud platforms, and design disaster recovery solutions for high availability and fault tolerance; integrate DevOps practices by implementing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub, and CircleCI, optimizing deployment processes and improving operational workflows; exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve technical issues under pressure, backed by extensive experience in Incident Support, Production Support, and Release Management; oversee project timelines, allocate responsibilities, and manage risks to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved; collaborate with cross-functional teams and train L1, L2, and L3 support teams on cloud technologies, troubleshooting, and best practices to ensure effective cloud-based operations; utilize tools like Jira, ServiceNow, and Remedy for incident tracking, production support, and release management to ensure SLA compliance and efficient issue resolution. Up to 60% remote work allowed.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or related field, plus 8 years of related experience. Prior experience must include: manage and troubleshoot applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and containerized systems using Docker and Kubernetes; support and configure application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat, IIS) for Java and .NET applications, ensuring optimal performance; proficient in using monitoring and log analysis tools (AppDynamics, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ThousandEyes) to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks and application issues in production environments; lead and support Major Incident Management (MIM) processes, troubleshooting complex production issues, and ensuring minimal downtime for web applications; manage relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) for performance analysis and debugging; knowledge in Using version control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) to manage application code, and proficient in tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Remedy) for incident tracking and service management.
Full time. $115,500 to $180,600 per year. Competitive compensation and benefits.
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
