About the Role
In this position, you will define and implement the material master data governance framework across Takeda’s global manufacturing and supply (GMS) network, lead cross-functional data initiatives, and enable high-quality decision-making through robust data standards. You will drive the digital transformation of our Master Data Management (MDM) processes, spearheading the deployment of tools such as SAP MDG and aligning multiple ERP systems.
How You Will Contribute
Own and evolve the global Material Master Data Governance framework within Supply Chain.
Establish and lead a cross-functional Center of Excellence and a governance council to guide MDM strategy and execution.
Drive alignment across ERP systems (SAP, JDE) and material master data beyond ERP platforms.
Define master data hierarchies that support global reporting across legacy systems, including product and regional hierarchies.
Lead the implementation and enhancement of MDM tools, including SAP MDG.
Establish and monitor quality metrics and KPIs, embedding a continuous improvement mindset.
Provide training, documentation (e.g., SOPs), and contribute to capability building (e.g., via the SC Academy).
Define the digital roadmap for MDM, including workflow optimization and support structures.
Serve as a key influencer in a matrixed, multicultural environment, engaging senior leaders, business peers, and IT stakeholders.
What You Bring to Takeda
Deep functional expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) processes, with a proven track record of designing and implementing governance structures, data quality frameworks, and SOPs across global supply chain environments.
Solid understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, with the ability to connect material master data governance to planning, logistics, procurement, and manufacturing operations.
Hands-on experience with enterprise ERP systems, in particular SAP (incl. SAP MDG) and JDE, including system integration, data workflows, and change management.
Demonstrated capability to lead complex master data transformations, including ERP harmonization, digital tool rollouts, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
Ability to define and track data quality KPIs, and embed continuous improvement practices into data governance operations.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels within a matrixed, multicultural organization, including IT, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.
Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
Professional certification such as APICS CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent in Supply Chain/Data Governance is preferred.
