OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:

The Japan Cybersecurity Lead provides leadership and guidance to the local business and Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T) organization on all cybersecurity control activities to help ensure that all globally-defined cybersecurity standards are adhered to and designed into local applications.  This role will collaborate closely with global cybersecurity teams to understand and influence the design of the strategies and processes that must be applied by local DD&T teams.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partners closely with key Japan business and DD&T stakeholders to communicate and understand perspectives on cybersecurity topics.
  • Influence business strategies and initiatives to ensure that cybersecurity is properly considered and embedded in any solutions early in the design discussions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Head of DD&T JPBU and her leadership team.
  • Promotes and ensures the proper application of Takeda cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls
  • Support global security teams in execution of application security assessments, 3rd party security reviews, the technology readiness process, penetration testing and secure application design/solutioning within Takeda Japan
  • Serves as an advisor to system owners, security program managers and others in all matters (technical and otherwise) involving cybersecurity
  • Serve as the local Takeda cybersecurity leader for any necessary interactions with external stakeholders (e.g. local regulators, law enforcement, industry groups, etc.), with support from appropriate Takeda Global teams.
  • Provides level 3 support services for the region as needed during rollout and hypercare phases of global cybersecurity technologies
  • Provides architectural support to security operation teams as needed
  • Collaborate with Global Privacy Office in support of local compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
  • Foster security awareness across Takeda Japan leveraging the standard Cybersecurity, Risk & Assurance awareness programs.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of programs and projects in the area of cybersecurity
  • Manages a project budget and reports financial and event status to others, as needed.
  • Provide comparable cybersecurity support for other smaller Takeda APAC countries, as needed.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in a cybersecurity-oriented role, including familiarity with leading cybersecurity control frameworks (e.g. CIS, NIST CSF)
  • 5+ years of experience working across geographies within a large, global corporate organization
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with various teams, organizations, and all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to influence others in a constructive and pragmatic manner to generate consensus
  • Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to synthesize disparate data into a sound, risk-based decision that is aligned with cybersecurity, DD&T, and business strategies
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and operating with a product mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in Japanese and English

Desirable Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications

  • Working Hours: Headquarters (Osaka/ Tokyo) 9:00-17:30, Production Sites (Osaka/ Yamaguchi) 8:00-16:45, (Narita) 8:30-17:15, Research Site (Kanagawa) 9:00-17:45

  • Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, May Day, Year-End Holidays etc. (approx. 123 days in a year)
