Job Description
About the Role:
As a Quality Control Technician I , you will conduct and perform many biological, chemical and physical analyses on pharmaceutical products (biologics and drugs) through all stages of the manufacturing process from incoming raw materials to finished goods, and may include environmental monitoring programs. You may be applicable to QC Analytical or Microbiological testing, Compliance, QCMIS, or Laboratory Operations. You will report to Quality Supervisor.
How you will contribute:
- Develop and test theories on the physical, chemical, and/or biological properties of materials and ingredients under multiple conditions
- Devise research methods and prepare technical specifications
- Specify laboratory test equipment and processes
- Make recommendations concerning the acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials
- Establish and implement strategies that have mid to long-term (3-5 years) impact on business results
- Lead multiple teams of lower-level executives, directors/senior managers, and managers
- Develop mid to long-term (3-5 years) plans for optimizing the organization, function, or sub-function and the talent required to execute strategies
What you bring to Takeda:
- Typically requires bachelor's degree in chemistry, biological science, or other related technical field. Some related work experience would be ideal.
- Proficient in performing multiple microbiological tests, can handle complex situations and provides guidance to others
- Capable of conducting detailed chemical analyses and interpreting results effectively
- Experienced in bacteriology, able to identify and culture various microorganisms
- Experience with performing biochemical assays, capable of advising on complex tests and process improvements
- Advanced knowledge in aseptic processing, able to maintain sterility and purity in sensitive experiments
- Fully adept in Good Manufacturing Practices, capable of ensuring compliance and mentoring others
- Expertly applies Corrective And Preventive Action in complex situations, improves processes and mentors other
- Leads quality control initiatives, capable of handling complex quality assessments independently
- Handles medical devices with expertise, provides improvements, and mentors others in device handling
- Leads new product development projects, advising on market analysis and customer needs
- Excels in verbal communication, able to articulate complex concepts clearly and adapt messaging for various audiences
- Recognized expert in handling laboratory equipment, capable of performing complex tasks and coaching others
Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:
- Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
- Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
- Work in a cold, wet environment.
- Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
- Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

$23.56 - $37.02The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
