JOB LOCATION: Cambridge, MA
POSITION: Research Associate Scientist, Immuno-Oncology Biology (ODDU)
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Development Center Americas, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate Scientist, Immuno-Oncology Biology (ODDU) with the following duties: independently design and implement in vivo experiments focusing on efficacy, Pharmacokinetics (PK), and Mechanism of Action (MOA) studies in various models including syngeneic, xenograft, and Patient Derived Xenograft (PDX) models. Perform standard and complex in vivo procedures including dosing all routes, tissue necropsy, and tumor inoculation and measurements. Analyze, interpret, and present comprehensive technical or project data reports to key stakeholders, playing an active role in scientific discussions and decision-making. Collaborate externally with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and establish new protocols. Identify experimental protocols and in-vivo models. Conduct immunoassays, including flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, Meso Scale Discovery (MSD) assays, and Western blotting, as required. Identify, plan, and execute well-defined scientific projects with minimal supervision and deliver comprehensive high quality data sets to help decision-making, and communicate program strategy and timelines to management. Maintain laboratory notebooks and follow laboratory practices in compliance. Contribute to Investigational New Drug (IND) report and documentation. Up to 20% remote work allowed.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Animal Science, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field, plus 3 years of related experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Animal Science, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field, plus 5 years of related experience. Prior experience must include: develop in vivo mouse models and execute in vivo animal work including tumor inoculation (SC, IP), T cell dose preparation and administration (IV), tumor measurement, tissue collection and ex vivo tissue processing; perform multi-color flow cytometry and data analysis of tumor tissues, tumor cell lines, and human T cells; conduct immunoassays including cytotoxicity assays, repeat stimulation assay, and MSD assay; mentor, train, and assist team members in laboratory techniques and procedures; maintain tumor cell line (adherent/suspension) and human primary cell culture (thawing, culture, passaging, expression, sorting, harvesting and freezing); conduct DNA/RNA extraction and quantify using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), perform gel electrophoresis and DNA sequencing.
Full time. $108,800 to $179,600 per year.
