Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Category Manager to lead our Banking & Consulting categories. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing global category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement global category strategies for the banking and consulting categories to achieve cost savings, improve service levels, and mitigate risks.
- Manage supplier relationships, including negotiation of contracts, performance management, and resolution of issues.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure alignment of category strategies with organizational goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of category initiatives and projects.
- Monitor and report on category performance, including savings achieved, supplier performance, and compliance with contracts.
- Drive continuous improvement in category management processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 11 years of experience in category management, procurement, or a related field, with a focus on Banking & Consulting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and drive performance improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is preferred.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- This is a hybrid role with in-office expectations of at least 10+ days per month. A strong onsite presence is necessary, candidates must be locally based within a reasonable commute to Takeda's Cambridge, MA offices.

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
