OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:

• Supports and coordinates the execution and implementation of MS&T VBU Data Science strategy and initiatives.
• Ensures compliance with MS&T Data Science Lifecycle Management
• Drives and executes data science initiatives/projects.
• Collaborates with Data Scientists throughout data science initiatives/projects
• Gathers, translates and identifies data science possibilities/initiatives/requests in collaboration, IT, Engineering, Quality and global GMS digital & data science.
• Provides the link between local and global data science, local functions, Quality, IT, Engineering in the respective region/Operational Business Unit.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:  

• Supports design, execution und implementation of the overall MS&T Data Science strategy for OPUs/functions
• Ensures compliance with Data Science Lifecycle Management
• Implements, supports and drives VBU MS&T data science initiatives according to prioritization
• Manages the respective functional and cross-functional interdependencies accordingly.
• Supports implementation of VBU process monitoring, process modeling and process improvements in collaboration with global GMS digital & data science and AGILE/Operational Excellence team.
• Drives necessary local training.

• Proven expertise and experience in Digital/Big Data Analytics/Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning algorithms, and respective programming knowledge.
• Capabilities to translate business needs into data analytics concepts and vice versa.
• Hands-on ability to implement and execute data science initiatives, analysis, and machine learning.
• High-level project management skills.
• A firm grasp of industry, scientific, digital, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science trends and market conditions to develop solutions that enhance compliance and quality of life for patients.

• Provide patient-centered best in class MS&T Data science, coordinates and supports data science talent and elevate organizational performance

• Responsible for day-to-day coordination, covering all data science levels and technologies for VBU MS&T

• Role requires partnership across local, functional and global Data Science teams, MS&T, IT, Engineering.
• Clear partnership with Quality is required to ensure alignment for data science processes

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Education / Experience:

• University degree of science/engineering/business:
  Advanced degree is required (Master/MBA and/or PhD), e.g. in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology or Physics with focus on either Data Analytics, Control Theory, Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, Technology and Innovation Management
• Experience in applying and executing Digital/ Big Data Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, SCRUM, Respective programming knowledge
• Fluent in English

Digital & Data Science Skills:

• Strong expertise and experience in Digital / Big Data Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence / Machine
  Learning
• Strong expertise in Signal Processing, Time Series Analysis, Predictive Modeling
• Experience in Machine Learning algorithms (CNN, XGB, RF, SVM, LSTM, etc.)
• Respective programming knowledge of either Python/R/MATLAB required, further skills such as C++, JavaScript, SQL etc. are advantageous
• Experience in Flask is a plus
• Prior experience of SCRUM, Biostatistics, Biological Stochastic/Statistical Modelling, Manufacturing and Quality Statical Process Control is a strong asset
