Job Description

About the role
As Regional Distribution Center Manager, you are responsible for delivering a unique customer experience through a self-driving, agile, compliant, and regionally differentiated distribution network. This is guided by our commitment to the patient, people, and planet. You will manage distribution replenishment planning from RDCs to satellite warehouses at the LOC level, ensuring stock levels and resupply strategies are maintained. You will also oversee the implementation of strategic distribution and warehousing initiatives, as well as manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers in terms of compliance, efficiency, and inventory.

How you will contribute
• Manage daily operations of 3PLs’ inbound & outbound transport and RDC replenishment/restocking from RDCs to satellite DCs.
• Troubleshoot operational issues related to orders and shipments to/from Regional Distribution Centers, in coordination with plants/OpUs and LOCs.
• Proactively engage in regular performance reviews (QBRs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives for 3PLs (Regional and Local). Accountable for running monthly operational performance reviews.
• Provide inputs and engage in Business Performance Meetings with key stakeholders (LOCs, QA, Finance, Demand & Supply planners) to implement AGILE continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and resolve daily 3PL interface issues (IDOCs).
• Accountable for stock accuracy and reconciliation between Takeda SAP and 3PLs ERP systems, including inventory management activities at 3PL DCs (stock counts, claims, etc.).
• Monitor quality deviations and CAPAs in coordination with the quality team.
• Solve problems related to non-standard requests (NSS) and provide logistics support for new launches.
• Create and apply sGOPs (standard operating procedures) to execute tasks based on harmonized processes.
• Operate under GDP compliance SOPs and support internal/external quality audits.
• Review invoices from suppliers and collaborate with business partners (Procurement, Finance, QA) to ensure appropriate 3PL service levels.
• Manage the escalation process and implement risk mitigation plans when necessary.


DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS:

Technical/Functional
• Strong understanding of logistics and transportation processes, especially in the pharmaceutical market.
• Familiarity with manufacturing units/OpUs and commercial processes.
• Solid knowledge of GDP (Good Distribution Practices) requirements.
• Experience with supply chain systems (SAP, BI, etc.).

Leadership
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operating Units (OpUs), commercial business units, Global Quality, and business partners (procurement, finance, IT, legal, etc.).

Decision-making and Autonomy
• Participate in regional and local project teams on product launches and supplier performance reviews.
• Strong problem-solving and solution-proposing capabilities.
• Effective escalation and resolution of issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Interaction
• Collaborate as an SME with BPLs on logistics and order-to-billing concepts, including input on IT system requirements (SAP, etc.).
• Prepare reports on D&L issues for escalation to RSCC.
• Escalate, resolve issues, and support alignment on quality requirements with GDP.
• Provide input for performance management on CSLe and warehousing capabilities.
• Support alignment of requirements and processes for intercompany orders management.
• Work with suppliers/procurement on daily operations and supplier selection.
• Help harmonize transportation and distribution processes with LOCs, manufacturing units, and OpUs.

Innovation
• Contribute to logistics and warehousing excellence to enhance customer experience.
• Deploy innovative solutions to reduce Takeda’s carbon footprint and support sustainability.

Complexity
• Manage logistics issues across multiple stakeholders.
• Understand decision-making processes within a regional matrix organization.

What you bring to Takeda:
• Master’s degree in supply chain management.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Distribution and Logistics management.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player with good intercultural skills.
• Proactively identifies and addresses problems for successful outcomes.
• Strong understanding of other functional areas and collaborative problem-solving.
• Innovation-driven with the ability to generate and apply new ideas.
• Proficiency in supply chain systems (SAP LES/MM/SD/FI).
• APICS/Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
• Fluent in English (oral and written); additional languages are a plus.
