Job Description

About the role:

Role is required to develop and maintain a capacity driven network strategy, to evolve the understanding of network performance across multiple measures, and the ensure the overall network is optimized for supply reliability, flexibility, and economic performance.

How you will contribute:

  • Analytics, Financials and Risk Analysis: Drives analytics in support of product portfolio rationalization, network economic assessments, cost of goods evolution and evaluation. Partner with Finance team for financial analyses that support strategic capacity investments and other decision analytics in support of product portfolio. Assess network economics, support sourcing decision/options analysis in support of proposals

  • Design Principles: Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the supply network design principles and resulting strategy

  • Project / Program impacts: Responsible to ensure project/program portfolio is integrated into network strategy. (But the Lead of the Program should be excluded)

  • LRCP Process: Responsible for the execution of the GMS long range capacity planning process to proactively identify and mitigate capacity shortages or overcapacities across the OpU network and co-ordinate with Capex strategy to ensure a balanced investment in capacity where required;

  • Collaboration and Alignment on LRCP: Collaborate with Product Operations, Manufacturing Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain and the Operating Unit/Region to align on a long range Statement of Capacity that is endorsed by OpU and aligned to the OpU budget. The creation of the statement of capacity will require the follow responsibilities: Partnering with the site leadership teams to accurately reflect the manufacturing capacity and critical assumptions supporting the capacity statement; Partner with needed functions & OpU/Region to document and understand both Capex and Opex projects that impact site capacities and changes to capacities; Partner with external manufacturing to understand capacity in outsourced manufacturing network.

  • Network Performance & optimization: Evolve understanding of network performance through the use of appropriate network analytics in partnership with relevant business partners. Pursue identification of optimization opportunities.

  • Annual Strategy Refresh: Lead Annual Strategy Refresh Process and workshops to identify the Network Strategy studies; Develop the related analyses and build the recommendations liaising with the different functions and OpU. Develop Network Strategy presentations to communicate and align on the analyses and recommendations

  • Management Infrastructure: Support the development and implementation of the Network Strategy Management Infrastructure (Scenario planning, LRCP Model, Financial Planning, Cost curves,….). Support the change management and training related to the deployment of the management infrastructure

  • Risk assessment: Responsibility for summarizing risk at the site and Network level (Risk identification, quantification, mitigation and monitoring)

  • Must be familiar with relevant bio/pharmaceutical technologies and aware of developing manufacturing technologies and their application in supply networks.

Interaction

  • Primary interaction within GMS is OpU LT members and associated Supply Chain and Product Operations staff. Site contacts for capacity planning purposes.

  • Primary interaction outside GMS is Pharm Sci product team leads.

  • Role requires influencing, negotiation, problem solving and decision making. Role required to translate multiple demands, trouble shoot quickly and effectively, and develop comprehensive analyses and risk assessments that will satisfy business needs, and multi-functional demands.

  • Role requires ability to rapidly understand complex business and technical issues and multi-option scenarios to build effective analyses and reports to mitigate risk and accurate statements of capacity for internal and external supply networks.

What you bring to Takeda:

Essential:

  • B.S. in engineering or biological sciences/pharmacy.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, or associated industry required with prior financial analysis responsibility.

  • Demonstrated application of planning skills critical.

  • Previous experience in directly working with cross functional teams at a plant or corporate support function level, with direct and regular interaction across functions: Commercial, R&D, Product Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Site Production Planning Engineering, etc.

Desired:.

  • Prior experience in developing and executing multi-site plans.

  • Prior working interaction with Supply Chain functions, Commercial Franchise and/or Country management.

  • Change management capability a plus.
