We are currently seeking for a Head of Finance (all genders) as part of our Country Leadership Team, to be based in our Austrian local country organization in Vienna.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

Join Takeda Austria as Head of Finance and Supply Chain to drive financial performance, lead strategic decisions, manage risk and compliance, oversee supply chain excellence, and develop high-performing teams within Takeda’s PTRB priorities and global standards.

Key objectives of this role include:

  • The Head of Finance and Supply Chain's main responsibilities include achieving performance (esp. financial) objectives in line with Takeda's PTRB priorities, guiding resource allocation effectively, and driving change initiatives to achieve these goals.
  • Co-pilot within the organization, providing knowledge on relevant financial issues and ensuring compliance with financial and local requirements.
  • Member of the Leadership Team (LT), participating in strategic, investment, budgetary, and planning decisions, leveraging deep understanding of opportunities, risks, and business drivers.
  • In collaboration with TBS / corporate functions, analysing all relevant business transactions, being responsible for the entire BS and P&L of the legal entity.
  • Lead the Supply Chain team, ensuring continuity of supply/service levels, and compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure a robust system of internal controls and oversee risk management, being responsible for the results of the external audit.
  • Finally, develop and lead the Finance and Supply teams, attracting and retaining talent and developing capabilities.

YOUR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Financial Performance Management:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and strategic planning processes (e.g. MRP, MYC, LRF, other forecasts as necessary), to optimise capital allocation and P&L performance. Support the functional and divisional heads in the target preparation.
  • Ensure preparation of all relevant performance reports for LT monthly, including analysis in comparison with historical and budget objectives
  • Review Business financial performance, acting as a constructive challenger and partner internally to maximize business success
  • Create an environment and culture of continuous improvement in financial systems and processes to provide the most accurate and efficient financial information to enable the achievement of business commitments.

Business Partnering / Co-piloting:

  • Connect the LOC to the wider Takeda organization, helping people to understand the wider corporate context
  • Conduct regular reviews with Business to understand what drives the business, act as a challenger and partner internally to maximize business success
  • Actively drive performance and resource (re)allocation topics (e.g. Portfolio Assessment), ask questions and provoke action points to drive the business
  • Responsible for both Management Accounts and Legal Entity accounts
  • Support contract negotiations with customers. These are typically large and complex service contracts with sophisticated payment schemes depending on the operational model e.g., distribution agreements
  • Understanding impact of industry trends on business risks and opportunities

Internal Control:

  • Conduct regular balance sheet review meetings - balance sheet reconciliation / justifications delivered by region / BU
  • Key contact/entry point for relations with external auditors and with external stakeholders (tax audits…) and for internal matters (Transfer pricing, insurance, etc.)
  • Ensures Finance policies and procedures are in line with local laws and regulations as well as compliant with Takeda SOP
  • Monitoring compliance related regulations / industry association positions to proactively identify emerging regulatory issues, development in industry practices and standards, and compliance risk trends..

Supply Chain management:

  • Ensure all supply chain KPIs are met, with consistent product availability across the portfolio in line with commercial objectives, minimising any shortages and managing external providers.

Co-ordination with wider Takeda teams:

  • Establish network to business in the country, providing high quality accounting and tax support to internal stakeholders (Tax incl. Transfer Pricing, Treasury, Legal, Business Development, EUCAN Supply Chain etc.).
  • Member of CSEE Finance Leadership team, contribute actively to broader agenda and suggest/undertake relevant initiatives as agreed
  • Alignment with the whole Austrian Finance Team (from the plants)
  • Work with other Takeda teams and functions (e.g. TBS, COEs, Procurement, Real Estate etc.); ensure such processes are appropriately embedded within the LOC
  • Member of CSEE Finance Leadership team, contribute actively to broader agenda and suggest/undertake relevant initiatives as agreed
  • Alignment with the whole Austrian Finance Team (from the plants)

Team Development:

  • Develop and Lead the Finance team, attracting and retaining talent and developing capabilities by deploying personal career and development plans. Coach and mentor people to achieve plans.
  • Establish succession planning for key positions in the finance and supply chain organization and training / development opportunities for the finance and supply chain staff with the goal to establish a best-in-class global finance organisation

YOUR PROFILE

Experience and Education

  • Strong leadership and business partnering skills, with ability to respectfully challenge performance & drive robust business decisions through financial analysis, questioning and problem-solving mindset
  • Engage and influences skills on senior leader level.
  • Sound finance fundamentals: Controlling experience, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Statutory Statements, Financial Compliance, Supply Chain
  • Extensive finance expertise, to ensure financial compliance, risk management, and Tax and Statutory compliance coordinating with relevant stakeholders (TBS, Tax, Treasury)
  • Strong people and organizational development skills, sponsoring and leading individual and organisational development and best in class mindset; showing curiosity and learning agility
  • Previous people manager experience an advantage
  • Minimum 10 years’ Finance experience
  • University Degree in relevant area
  • Full proficiency in English required, German language skills desirable

The minimum salary for this important and responsible position is €9,000 gross/month (full-time, KV chem. Industrie). The actual salary package will depend on your professional experience and qualifications.
