Activities and Responsibilities

Accountabilities

Understand disease and treatment landscape

  • Capture and share in-field insights in a compliant manner with relevant business functions to support medical and scientific strategy and business development.
  • Seek, collect, organize and share scientific insights about key strategic questions, gaps and projects.
  • Organize and execute interactions with key stakeholders to uncover their needs.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of key medical activities (e.g.  Advisory Boards).

Generate and communicate evidence

  • Respond to and facilitate responding to unsolicited requests from HCPs in line with company procedures.
  • Support ongoing and future company sponsored clinical studies according to the collaboration model with Clinical Operations and CROs established by the company.

Develop and implement scientific and medical education

  • Continuously screen, review and analyze scientific literature; generate summaries and critical assessments if appropriate.
  • Present medical data to key stakeholders in the most efficient way leveraging understanding of their unmet needs.
  • Leverage scientific and medical discussions to deepen focus on defining clinical treatment pathways.
  • Identify and communicate operational understanding of healthcare systems across functions, including changes in the healthcare landscape.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of key medical activities (e.g. medical education and peer-to-peer training activities).
  • Use specific disease and product knowledge to support Takeda’s product portfolio and act as a field based medical expert of drug and disease for Takeda.
  • Ensure consistent communication to external stakeholders of ongoing clinical trial programs when requested.

Develop internal capabilities

  • Attend local and global congresses to gather knowledge and information for dissemination to internal stakeholders.
  • Act as field-based reference point of scientific and clinical expertise for Key Account Managers and other internal stakeholders (e.g. Market Access) through training and ad-hoc support.

Build strategic partnerships

  • Support medical / scientific credibility through identification and development of sustained and trusted peer to peer relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with KOLs and stakeholders in current and future therapeutic areas of interest.
  • Understand the patient journey and provide insights to support medical and scientific strategy development.
  • Ensure all activities are in line with any local and/or international code of Practice and Takeda Processes.

Education, behavioral competencies and skills

  • Essential:
    • Medium or Advanced degree in scientific discipline or applicable health sciences field (medical, biotech, pharma, chemistry, biology).
    • Experience and proven track record in medical affairs, preferably as MSL.
    • Deep understanding of EU and local laws, regulations and Industry codes.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with external and internal stakeholders, strong interpersonal skills.
    • Experience of working in a matrix management environment.
    • Highest ethical standards.
    • Proven experience in successfully managing several projects at the same time.
    • Fluency in native language and English.
  • Desired:
    • On job experience in Pharmaceutical company in last 2-3 years.
    • Clinical trials experience and good understanding of clinical trial data and study design.
    • Experience of working with scientific and clinical experts at all levels in both 1:1 and group settings.
    • Experience in providing clinical data and disease area training to both medical and non-medical colleagues.
  • Other requirements:
    • Travel across Baltics, MCO CEE and other EU countries.
    •  Valid and clean driver’s license.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Medium or Advanced degree in scientific discipline or applicable health sciences field (medical, biotech, pharma, chemistry, biology).
