Job Description

About the role:

The Quality Control Scheduler will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the Quality Control schedule for the analytical and microbiology laboratories. The candidate will be responsible for the Quality Control schedule including providing windows for non routine activities and coordinating training-related activities.The current work schedule for this position is day shift M-F (8 hrs).The candidate will need to be flexible to support company holidays and shutdown scheduling coverage based on business need.

How you will contribute:

  • Independently maintain schedules for Quality Control using system tools (i.e Smart QC).

  • Coordinate scheduling activities with support groups, includes but is not limited to, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Sciences, and/or External Sites.

  • Single point of contact for Quality Control scheduling.

  • Support coordination of training activities  

  • Develop tools to drive testing turn around times

  • Report standard vs. actual times to drive schedule optimization

  • Revise existing or initiate new SOPs, Job aids, and Structured on the Job Training (SOJT) associated with the Quality Control scheduling process.

  • Containment of issues as they arise on shift and effective escalation of issues as needed.

  • Manage reporting tools and metrics that support department and team goals.

  • Develop/conduct training as necessary to support department needs.

  • Contribute to a culture of safety first in compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). Understand and follow Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) packets.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or equivalent, with 2-5 years’ experience in managing schedules and/or coordinating activities, or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or equivalent with 0-3 years’ experience. Laboratory coursework, or experience working in a laboratory preferred.

  • Must have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; able to efficiently communicate with cross- functional teams and management on recommended course of action, with minimal assistance.

  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment.

  • Self-driven individual that requires minimal supervision

  • Must have proficient computer skills and be experienced using MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  MS Project experience is a plus.

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment.

  • Basic knowledge of lean Quality Control systems (Labware, MODA, JDE, Empower) is preferred.

  • Must have a customer service approach to daily work.

  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Must be able to read and follow detailed written instructions and have good verbal/written communication skills.

Important Considerations:

  • Must be able to carry up to 25 lbs., lift up to 50 lbs., and push/pull > 100 lbs. (with the assistance of material handling equipment).

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time over an entire shift.

  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs while wearing special gowning.

  • May require bending, twisting, reaching overhead, and/or squatting motions to perform certain tasks.

  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. 

  • Will work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including holidays and shutdown. Must be able to work overtime as required.

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$84,000.00 - $132,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
