Job Description
The Production Engineering team is responsible for operational support of the manufacturing departments at the Takeda Georgia Plasma Protein Manufacturing Facility located in Covington, GA. A Production Engineer focuses on resolving manufacturing problems and enabling manufacturing to meet production goals. As a member of the manufacturing operations team, the Production Engineer provides technical knowledge and leadership.
The Production Engineering Intern will partner with Production Engineers to gain an understanding of plasma protein manufacturing processes (plasma fractionation and protein purification) and industrial automation systems. The Production Engineering Intern will also complete a project targeted at manufacturing improvement.
How You Will Contribute:
As a Production Engineering Intern, you will:
Regularly partner with Production Engineers to support daily operations.
Use engineering skills and knowledge to solve routine manufacturing issues.
Use analysis tools to collect and analyze manufacturing data.
Give regular project updates to managers and manufacturing stakeholders.
Internship Development Opportunities:
The Production Engineering Intern will learn:
Biopharmaceutical manufacturing practices, specifically plasma fractionation and protein purification processes.
How to use control systems including DeltaV Process Control System and Siemens Simatic IT Manufacturing Execution System.
Engineering troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Data analysis to identify issues and promote process improvement.
Job Requirements:
This position will be Fully Onsite at the Covington, GA location.
Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical, chemical, biological, biomedical).
Ability to communicate technical information, both verbally and in written form.
Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
Knowledge of basic engineering principles.
Ability to work in a clean room environment.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs) due to safety requirements in specific areas.
Internship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)
The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:

Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
