Job Description
About the role:
As Associate Director, MS&T Drug product, you will provide scientific and strategic leadership to support and optimize Drug Product (DP) manufacturing across internal and external sites. You will lead a team of process engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure process robustness, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle
How will you contribute :
- Leading cGMP activities for commercial Drug Product manufacturing, including deviation and change management.
- Driving process improvements, technology transfers, scale-ups, and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Managing data analysis and documentation (e.g. CPV, APR), ensuring regulatory compliance and high product quality.
- Supporting regulatory submissions and ensuring the implementation of risk management principles.
- Representing Manufacturing Sciences & Technology in cross-functional and external project teams.
- Developing your team’s technical capabilities and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Guide and further develop a team of (senior) process engineers supporting both projects and commercial manufacturing in external and internal sites
- Identifying and introducing innovative manufacturing technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
What you bring toTakeda:
- Degree in Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related field with experience in cGMP Drug Product manufacturing.
- Minimum 7 years of industry experience, including strong background in biologics and drug product development. Proven ability to lead high-visibility, fast-paced projects with global stakeholder interaction.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a direct or matrix environment.
- Deep understanding of formulation, aseptic filling, isolator technology, lyophilization, packaging, and visual inspection.
- Experience with single-use systems and knowledge of upstream/downstream processes are desirable.
- Familiarity with analytical and process control technologies in biopharma manufacturing.
- Experience with live virus or vaccine production is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, make impactful decisions, and lead complex initiatives.
- Full professional fluency in English is essential; German is a plus
- Position based in Singen (Germany) with global scope; flexibility to travel up to 20-30% domestic & internationally.
