Job Title: Chapter Engineer Network Services

Location: Pisa

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

The Critical Infrastructure Management – Networking Chapter Engineer offers specialized expertise and carries out site-specific, but also globally driven, activities and services within site/global GMSGQ networking scope. The job holder provides feedback to the Service Management of the Chapter and serves as a local partner and global support for operations and project deliveries.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

For Critical Infrastructure Management - Chapter Networking Services:

  • Support to operate CIM Network Infrastructure on GMSGQ sites, following defined standards and procedures.

  • Represents the CIM Networking team at site and/or regions, collaborating with local and global teams.

  • Partners with Global DD&T NW to support defining/evolving standards and site level deliveries.

  • Facilitate the local network services, enable continuous monitoring and improvement.

  • Partners within DD&T and CIM chapters to support defining/evolving standards and site level deliveries.

  • Holds interfacing service providers accountable withing the service operations processes.

  • Maintains the CIM networking inventory in CMDB and other monitoring tools in alignment with the global team.

  • Provides consulting and support for site specific and global projects and initiatives.

  • Operates and runs the Incident Resolution and Change/Problem Management activities mainly related to Networking, and support on Incident Resolution and Change/Problem Management for the other chapter in collaboration.

  • Availability to participate, review documents, and offer feedback.

  • Supports the remediation of network infrastructure and site issues linked to networking.

  • Provides feedback and business inputs to demands and service quality.

  • Provide input about lessons learned and suggest improvements across all CIM chapters.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Proven knowledge of networks, especially in the field of OT production and/or laboratory environments

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration with focus manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent experience required

  • at least 5 years’ experience in networking and working in OT environment

  • Background in IT Service Management and Service Delivery

  • IT/OT experience in providing services to a Manufacturing and/or Laboratory environment, ideally experience in OT domain, and knowledge about Industrial Control Systems

  • Basic understanding of network segmentation and remote access solutions to support business in decision making

  • Understanding of network security concepts and ability to support firewall requests in the OT environment

  • Experience running IT projects in a regional and as needed a global environment.

  • Ability to set priorities and manage the needs of multiple stakeholders.

  • Certifications preferred (ITIL v3, Cisco CCNA R&S/wireless, Palo Alto)

  • Ability to read and speak in English language fluently.
