About the role
As a key leader in Takeda’s Quality Control Laboratories, you will oversee Lab Operations & Compliance Support, ensuring laboratory processes adhere to the highest standards while driving operational excellence. Your role is pivotal in providing investigations support, managing lab logistics, mentoring top talent, and spearheading improvements that deliver impactful results. Representing Takeda during inspections and audits, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining trust, reputability, and alignment with our company’s mission to improve patient health worldwide.
How you will contribute
Manage compliance guidance in Quality Laboratory operations while interpreting FDA, GLP, cGMP, and USP regulations.
- Ensure lab operations meet rigorous testing procedures, specifications, and policies while preparing for audits and inspections.
- Oversee lab investigations, deviations, and CAPAs with adherence to global standards and timely execution.
- Lead cross-functional teams to solve operational challenges, improve contamination control, and drive lab efficiency.
- Mentor and develop a high-performance team, supporting their growth through training and leadership programs.
- Champion continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, 5S, and innovative technologies.
- Represent Takeda’s Quality Control Laboratories during customer audits and inspections, handling investigations with precision.
- Manage logistics for sample custody, documentation creation, inventory control, and supply chain optimization.
- Conduct risk assessments, support digital documentation improvements, and align lab workflows with global protocols.
- Develop and manage laboratory operating budgets while ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment.
What you bring to Takeda
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field with 7+ years of experience (2+ years in management); Chemistry or Biological Sciences degree preferred.
- Expertise in pharmaceutical Quality Laboratory operations and regulatory compliance, focusing on investigations and problem-solving.
- Advanced skills in statistical analysis, compliance frameworks (QSR, cGMP, USP), and leadership.
- Proven skills in managing large teams, solving complex challenges, mentoring talent, and driving operational improvements.
- Effective decision-making, critical thinking, and technical capabilities for a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
Important Considerations
Physical demands:
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 15 lbs. This role includes both sedentary work and walking to observe facility activities.
Working environment:
- Controlled settings requiring special gowning (covering head, face, hands, feet, and body).
- No makeup, jewelry, contact lenses, or artificial nails allowed in manufacturing areas.
- Exposure to cold/wet environments, clean rooms, confined spaces, and temperature-sensitive storage conditions.
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Occasional travel (5%).

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$137,000.00 - $215,270.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
