JOB LOCATION: Lexington, MA
POSITION: Data Science Engineer
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. is seeking a Data Science Engineer with the following duties: Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources (e.g., sales, marketing, patient data, healthcare providers, etc.); Ensure seamless data integration between internal systems (CRM, ERP, financial systems) and external healthcare/pharma datasets (IQVIA, Symphony, Veeva, etc.); Automate data ingestion and transformation processes using ETL/ELT tools; Define data engineering techniques and best practices for data transformation, data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation; Integrate commercial data (sales, claims, prescription, payer data) with internal data sources (MDM, marketing campaigns, sales force activities, etc.) for better business insights; Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business intelligence teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions; Regularly review and improve data processing efficiency, addressing bottlenecks in data pipelines and ensuring system reliability; Developing chatbots and virtual assistants (e.g., using GPT-4 or AWS Bedrock) to support field sales teams, HCP interactions, or customer service, automating responses to frequently asked questions, or personalizing HCP engagement. Up to 50% remote work allowed.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s in a Computer Science, Information Systems, or data related field plus 5 years of related experience. Prior experience must include: Work as Data Engineer Consultant for major U.S. Healthcare industries for 5 years; Lead a data team in migrating commercial healthcare data across multiple countries from Salesforce to Veeva application for a major U.S. biotech company; Design data pipelines using Unix Shell scripts, Oracle PL/SQL to help a major U.S. biotech company launch their new product and implement a new REMS module in TrackWise, as required by FDA; Implement the Reltio MDM process across multiple countries for a major U.S. healthcare company, enhancing data management efficiency and ensuring uniformity, accuracy, and improved data quality.
Full time. $153,000 - $228,000 per year. Competitive compensation and benefits.
