About the Role:

As the Analytical Science Associate II, you will be responsible for independently executing basic/routine and complex experiments as well as planning and executing most experiments independently, including some advanced/complex experiments to develop, optimize and implement analytical methods. You will write supporting documentation, independently collect, manage, engineer, analyze, and interpret data, and work with departmental and cross functional peers.

This is an on-site position that will report to the Head of Analytical Sciences Biologics.

How you will contribute:

• Plan and execute analytical experiments according to AQbD mostly independently, including some advanced/complex experiments.
• Independently collect, manage, analyze and interpret data using existing standard procedures, digital platforms, and software tools.
• Identify and communicate complex technical issues and propose solutions; implement solutions with guidance.
• Prepare experimental protocols and may write support documentation (e.g. summary of method developments, method procedures) of completed experiments.
• May write and consolidate technical documents to support method transfers.
• May review and communicate analysis results to impacted line functions.
• Independently work with departmental, cross functional peers and external partners to execute on assignments.
• Contribute to project work within functional area.
• Support technology transfer through writing and consolidating technical documents.
• Coordinate within department and cross functionally with peers

What you bring to Takeda:

• Associate degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science and 4+ years relevant industry experience OR Bachelor degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 2+ years relevant industry experience OR Master degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 0+ years relevant industry experience
• Experience with a variety of standard biochemical analytical techniques, including but not necessarily limited to liquid chromatography, gel or capillary electrophoresis, and/or spectroscopic-based methods, biological assays, including cell-based assays, ELISAs, potency assays.
• Can conduct routine testing and able to conduct limited troubleshooting of multiple methods. Understanding of protein properties.
• Experience supporting evaluation of new equipment/technologies as well as carry out method development and transfer of methods to internal and external laboratories for standard methodologies with some supervision.
• General lab competencies such as equipment maintenance and compliance activities and GxP requirements

Important Considerations:

• Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
• Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
• Work in a cold, wet environment.
• Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
• Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
