Job Description

The Parenteral Drug Product Development group is responsible for formulation development of synthetic and protein therapeutics for clinical trials as well as commercial launch. The group is responsible for the development of the final drug product as well as developing and scaling manufacturing processes to global manufacturing sites.

How You Will Contribute:

• Plan, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of protein formulation, stability and storage
• Focus on understanding protein stability, characterization methods, and manufacturing processes
• Work on an individual project and will support laboratory activities across many projects on an as-needed basis.

Internship Development Opportunities:

• Engage with biophysical and biochemical characterization techniques such as: size exclusion chromatography (SEC), cation exchange chromatography (CEX), imaged capillary isoelectric focusing (iCIEF), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), ultraviolet–visible (UV), fluorescence, and fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, light scattering, light obscuration, and microflow imaging
• Gain hands on experience in lyophilization and solid-state characterization including Karl Fisher, scanning electron microscope (SEM), freeze-drying microscopy, and X-Ray powder diffraction (XRPD)
• Utilize laboratory equipment and experience with method development.
• Overall lab techniques for pharmaceutical protein development
• Various biophysical techniques
• Overall product development

Job Requirements:

• This position is fully onsite based out of our Lexington, MA office.
• A candidate working towards their BS degree or graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, and Biological Sciences related is preferred
• Hands-on laboratory experience (from previous internship, research lab, coursework)
• Knowledge about protein structure, stability, kinetics, and statistics is preferred.
• Protein formulation development experience and experience with analytical methods used for protein analysis such as HPLC, and spectroscopy preferred
  

Internship Eligibility

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
• Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
• The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 22nd) or (June 16th - August 29th)
  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
• Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates

• Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

$21.00 - $46.00
