Job Description

The Head of Vaccines Franchise, MYSG is responsible for building and leading a strong best in class Vaccine team in Malaysia and Singapore. They will set ambitious targets and objectives for the BU, leading the team to deliver superior results.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for setting the vision, defining the country Vaccine Franchise strategy, ensuring execution of brand and key account plans to achieve ambitious (launch) goals
  • Leads the Franchise team members and cross functional teams (Including the Market Access, Medical, Public Affairs and Regulatory functions) to deliver a superior patient customer experience
  • Develops effective sales & marketing strategies as well as targeted patient programs to ensure successful performance and goal achievement
  • P&L responsibility for the Franchise
  • Ensures the development and implementation of effective market access programs that ensure broadest access to the vaccine
  • Builds a strong best in class Vaccine team. Hires, develops and retains commercial staff (marketing, sales)
  • Fully financially responsible for local Vaccine business, including any future marketed product in therapy area
  • Responsible for ensuring the development, implementation and monitoring of sales force and key account prioritization and planning aligned to the vaccine sales force model.
  • Identifies, develops and maintains professional relationship with key vaccine customers, KOLs and scientific societies, identifies new opportunities and ways to better meet customer needs, serves as role model in terms of customer orientation
  • Identifies possible public health networks and plans and executes partnerships
  • Responsible for ensuring public and private funding strategies, including NIP inclusion

Critical functional knowledge

  • Strategic mindset
  • Knowledge of the Malaysian and preferably the Singaporean market. Vaccines knowledge would be a very strong boost.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage innovative/specialty franchise resources (finance, headcount) at Vaccines Franchise, enabling Malaysia’s growth strategy
  • Key facilitator of strategic and operational decisions and owner to resolve any cross-functional challenges at above-franchise level
  • Proven ability to develop and communicate a strategic view based on the integrated knowledge of all franchise programs

  • Proven track record of understanding vaccine market and customers’ needs and the ability to translate their needs into highly impactful tactics and solutions
  • In-depth Understanding of the Vaccine business model
  • Thorough understanding of the local and vaccine specific policies and how these impact decision-making

  • Direct impact to APAC & GEM P&L given the importance of portfolio management to maximize vaccines’ value throughout its lifecycle

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to successfully collaborate with global groups with understanding of, and sensitivity to, the business cultures for each region/country
  • Ability to communicate ideas (both verbally and written) in a persuasive and appropriate manner and to build collaborative work relationships, ideally in a cross-functional and cross-regional settings
  • Able to engage in detailed conversations with clinicians and payers about local management of disease through strong understanding of vaccine and how Takeda can help improve disease prevention
  • Excellent downwards communication skills to attract, lead and motivate talents and align them with global strategy and vision
  • Excellent upwards communication skills to drive program excellence and engaging functional partners

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS & KEY CHALLENGES

  • Proven experiences in marketing, sales, analytics, product management for preferably Vaccines and associated products in Malaysia
  • Must have proven cross functional leadership experience, including a minimum of 3 years of direct leadership of a team
  • Local experience in leading complex initiatives and oversight of budgets and key elements of strategic/global projects

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing / Science or related fields is preferred
  • Business knowledge, MBA is preferred
  • Fluent English speaker to ensure effective communication across the region and to Global
