OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

The role involves providing leadership and guidance to project teams, implementing project management methodologies and frameworks, monitoring project performance, identifying and mitigating risks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, developing operational strategies, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, managing resources effectively, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. The overall goal is to optimize efficiency, productivity, and project delivery within the organization.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Establish and maintain the Project Management Office, including defining processes, standards, and tools for project management within the new Takeda Osaka Plasma Site (TOPS) Organization

  • Provide leadership and guidance to workstream leads and project teams, ensuring adherence to project management best practices.

  • Develop and implement project management methodologies, frameworks, and templates to standardize project execution and ensure consistency across projects.

  • Monitor and track project performance, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans as needed.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.

  • Facilitate project planning sessions, including the development of project charters, work breakdown structures, and project schedules.

  • Conduct project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization, driving efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity in alignment with workstream leads.

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the organization and project team, ensuring smooth and seamless operations across all departments.

  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement operational plans and initiatives.

  • Support the departmern heads to manage and allocate resources effectively to meet operational goals and objectives.

  • Lead and motivate departments, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve performance targets.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in operations management.

  • Change Management: Manage governance document changes to keep it current and minimize disruption of personnel changes during the establishment and scaling of the new facility.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Manage communication with stakeholders to ensure effective progress updates, routne reporting, urgent escalation and seeking for executive decisions.

EDUCATION and BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or business administration

  • Minimum 5 years experience in projects, operations or PMO filed

  • High strategic thinking.

  • Engineering, Operational,Quality and EHS awareness.

  • Awareness of project risks and effective mitigation planning.

Working Hours: Headquarters (Osaka/ Tokyo) 9:00-17:30, Production Sites (Osaka/Yamaguchi) 8:00-16:45, (Narita) 8:45-17:15, Research Site (Kanagawa) 9:00-17:45
Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, May Day, Year-End Holidays etc. (approx. 123 days in a year)
