About the role:
Join Takeda as Marketing and Commercial Excellence, Ethics & Compliance Business Partner at the senior director level, where you will foster the ethical behaviors and Takeda Values that play a fundamental role in risk mitigation. For this role, the Ethic & Compliance Global Medical and Global Product & Launch Strategy team seeks a forward-thinking leader in risk identification and mitigation who wants to join an innovative function that responds rapidly to changing environments and business needs. By working in an agile manner, Ethic & Compliance (E&C) supports stable structures, governance, processes and systems, while delivering innovative solutions that appropriately manage risks. As part of the E&C Global Medical (GM) and Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) team, you will report to the Head of Ethics & Compliance, Global Medical and Global Product & Launch Strategy, and you will partner with Global Portfolio Division (GPD) Marketing and Commercial Excellence (MCE), E&C, and Legal stakeholders and colleagues.
How you will contribute:
Ensure GPD Marketing and Commercial Excellence (MCE) has the required Takeda-aligned elements of an effective E&C program. Assist in the evaluation and enhancement of the MCE E&C program on an annual basis.
Assess key MCE strategy initiatives (Brand Plans, New Product launch plans, patient digital solutions, etc.) that will impact all GPD countries for E&C and other potential risks.
Demonstrate strategic influence at the MCE Risk Ethics & Compliance Committee (RECC); develop relevant RECC meeting materials, including LOC perspective as appropriate.
Develop impactful relationships with MCE senior leaders (e.g. – Strategy and Marketing Heads) to support the effective delivery of the MCE E&C program.
Connect with E&C LOC Officers when MCE strategy initiatives impact LOC brands and franchises. Ensure LOC E&C team are ahead of the brand planning and equip them with above country visibility to support local discussion.
Establish leadership credibility with senior MCE and GEM-EUCAN Region/Country leaders and E&C personnel to resolve E&C relevant matters.
Identify potential E&C risks areas within MCE and provide guidance on mitigation strategies/options. Lead and shape risk-resolution with the MCE Leadership Team.
Lead discussions and help influence MCE’s organizational mindset around Takeda’s Values: Takeda-ism and PTRB (Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business) to firmly embed ethical decision-making principles.
Enhance the MCE Ethics & Compliance (E&C) business partnering strategy.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and other guidance documents to support the MCE E&C program in alignment with company risks and code/regulatory obligations.
Support the execution of an annual enterprise and local risk assessment process. Collaborate with MCE to define and track mitigation actions.
Contribute to global E&C projects representing MCE.
Lead E&C collaboration and engagement across the Legal function; drive awareness and buy in with Legal on relevant matters.
Increase business acumen by obtaining therapeutic and product knowledge to support current and pipeline products.
Conduct E&C training for MCE.
Create and support the execution of a monitoring program for MCE.
Lead or support E&C MCE investigations.
External facing - Align MCE E&C risk analysis with evolving Ethics & Compliance trends (EFPIA, PhRMA, OIG, DOJ, SEC, PCF); Interact regularly with industry peers, co-marketing and co-promotion partners and vendors to help shape direction and detect evolving best practices.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of Ethics & Compliance related experience; preferably with 5 years as part of medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
Bachelor’s degree; JD, MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
Solid understanding of Global Codes of Practice (ABPI, EFPIA, IFPMA, etc.), US PhRMA Code, health care laws, regulations and industry guidance that affect the pharmaceutical industry.
Strong business acumen and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Experience in managing potential, present and future compliance risks related to the business, including risk identification, controls & risk mitigation of potential non-compliance.
Experience in using ethical decision making.

High interpersonal and communication skills including ability to challenge and provide advice/ guidance to the business
Works cross-functionally and collaborates effectively; leads and influences with and without authority at multiple levels of the organization, including at senior Leadership roles within GPD

Proven skills to transform ideas into conversations and materials that resonate (presentations, written documents, email, etc.)
Consistently demonstrates the ability to deliver results; Able to work and deliver on deadlines while managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and ability to demonstrate executive presence while interacting with all levels of Takeda MCE, E&C, vendors, and partners.
Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and regulatory information and legal advice.
Manage complexity and ambiguity: ability to develop and apply pragmatic solutions to complex business, legal, regulatory and industry issues

205,100.00 - 322,300.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
