Job Description

The Operational Excellence team enhances and implements elements of Takeda’s Agile Operating System (AOS). The teamengages colleaguesto drive continuous improvement that optimizes processes, reduces waste, enhances safety, and increases productivity.The team supports all business functions at the site and has a wide range of responsibilities that align with and drive towards thesitevision and strategy.

The Operational Excellence intern will help drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives, enhancing manufacturing and business processes, efficiency, effectiveness, and reducing waste.In this role you willmanage a project from initiation to completion, in collaboration with a cross-functional team. You will report to the Operational Excellence Lead.


How You Will Contribute:

Duties will include the following, under the manager's supervision:

  • Support the development and implementation of operational excellence initiatives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implementprocess improvements

  • Manage a designated project from initiation to completion

  • Schedule and facilitate project team meetings

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather dataand processes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

  • Report on project status including preparation of presentations and documentation for stakeholders

  • Assist in the development / enhancement of training materials and documentation

Internship Development Opportunities:

The Operational Excellence Interns will have the opportunity to:

Job Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Management, Sciences, Engineering, or related field

  • Effective verbal and written communication and excellent teamwork abilities

  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • This position will be onsite in the Brooklyn Park, MN office

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later 

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)  

  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates  

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:

  • Paid sick time

  • Civic Duty paid time off

  • Participation at company volunteer events 

  • Participation at company sponsored special events

  • Access to on-site fitness center (where available)

  • Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
