POSITION: Associate Director – DD&T Data Governance Lead
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director – DD&T Data Governance Lead with the following duties: Contribute to setting a clear vision, guiding principles, and purpose of the commercial data strategy by executing effective data governance which promote FAIR data principles and defining data management strategies to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all systems and platforms; collaborate with governing bodies, i.e. Legal, Privacy, E&C, IT Security, EDAS, and COBS to assess impact of regulations, mitigate risk, and contribute to adequate solutioning applying industry best practices and establishing efficient and agreed upon data governance frameworks and solutions for data access, usage, and security; develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with organizational objectives; participate in cross-functional teams to drive alignment between data governance and business objectives; lead the design and operational adherence of DD&T processes that utilize sensitive financial, medical, or PII data and define metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives; assess current data management processes and identify gaps and areas for improvement; implement metadata management processes to capture and maintain data lineage, definitions, and relationships; identify proof of concepts and pilots with clear measurements of success to reinforce importance of data strategy and governance; collaborate to develop and maintain current and accessible data dictionaries, data models, and specifications to support catalog and marketplace solutions. Up to 75% remote work allowed.
REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field plus 5 years of progressive experience in Life Sciences, Biotech, or Pharma in the Data Governance field. Prior experience must include: execute data management frameworks/strategies in Life Sciences Industry, including FAIR, Data Management (DAMA), DGI Data Governance Framework, BCG Data Governance Framework Metadata Management, encompassing data cataloguing, governance, and stewardship to enhance organizational data capabilities; assess current data management processes, business needs, identify gaps/limitations with existing products/platforms and areas for improvement, and drive resolution of complex and emerging data challenges by providing creative solutions to advance data governance maturity; foster collaboration between technical, non-technical stakeholders, various governing bodies (e.g., Legal, Privacy, IT Security) and stakeholders across business units to assess regulatory impacts, mitigate risks, and drive alignment between data governance and business objectives facilitating effective communication and alignment of data governance objectives with overall business goals; implement a centralized, reliable master metadata management repository such as a data catalog and marketplace, to enable precise data lineage tracking, data access requests, impact analysis, and fostering a comprehensive understanding of data assets within life sciences ecosystem.
Full time. $224,000.00 - $324,000.00 per year. Competitive compensation and benefits.
