Job Description
This internship involves developing advanced Bayesian statistical methods in clinical trial design and analysis.
How You Will Contribute:
- The intern will conduct a literature review to understand existing methodologies, then proceed to develop and implement the proposed methodology using appropriate statistical software.
- The scope includes identifying and analyzing relevant datasets, evaluating the performance of the implemented methods, and presenting findings through weekly progress reports and a final report and presentation.
- The intern will work directly with a supervisor and the project aims to provide valuable insights and recommendations in the realm of statistical analysis
Internship Development Opportunities:
- The intern will deepen their understanding of advanced statistical and deep learning methods, gaining expertise in techniques essential for clinical trials.
- By working on real-world clinical trial applications, the intern will experience the impact of their work and collaborate closely with statisticians, preparing them for high-stakes roles in biostatistics.
Job Requirements:
- This position is remote
- Enrolled in a PhD program in Statistics, Biostatistics, or very closely related field. Desirable to have completed at least 2 years of their doctoral program
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of statistical research.
- Strong interpersonal skills, be able to successfully communicate well both verbally and in writing in a US business environment, be willing and able to accept and incorporate feedback, to take responsibility for planning their work and delivering agreed results, and be good at follow-through and completion of tasks.
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of
statistical research. - Ability to apply a range of machine learning, deep learning, advanced statistical
techniques in support of scientific research studies and/or experiments - Knowledge of R programming and/or other statistical software.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication and writing skills.
- Deadline-driven with an elevated level of organizational and planning skills.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.
- Proven record of accomplishment of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and
integrity. - Global mindset to grow in a diverse work environment
Internship Eligibility
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
- The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 22nd) or (June 16th - August 29th)
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
- Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

Boston, MAU.S. Hourly Wage Range:
$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
Paid sick time

Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
