Job Description
Summer Internship in Population Pharmacokinetics (PopPK) and Pharmacometrics Programming is designed for undergraduate, or master’s/Ph.D. students to gain hands-on experience in dataset creation and analysis within the pharmaceutical industry. The intern will work closely with the Pharmacometrics programming team, and Pharmacometricians, contributing to the development of high-quality population pharmacokinetics (PopPK) and exposure-response datasets from clinical trial data. This internship is designed to enhance technical skills, project management abilities, and professional development.
How You Will Contribute:
Interns will be involved in a variety of tasks aimed at developing their skills and contributing to the team’s objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Learn to create population PK and exposure-response datasets from clinical trial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards, including CDISC guidelines. Gain an understanding of study documents such as Protocols and Pharmacometrics Analysis Plans (PMAP).
- Undertake an independent project related to dataset creation or analysis, developing a project plan that outlines objectives, methodologies, and timelines. The internship will culminate in a final presentation demonstrating learning outcomes and project findings.
- Gain proficiency in statistical programming tools such as SAS for data manipulation and analysis. Familiarize with the ADaM PopPK CDISC Model and the Takeda programming environment while learning advanced programming techniques for efficient data processing and automation concepts.
- Develop skills in data handling, including data cleaning, transformation, and validation. Participate in creating analysis dataset specifications to support regulatory submissions.
- Enhance communication skills through regular interactions with team members and present findings at the end of the internship to demonstrate analytical skills and project outcomes. Engage in feedback sessions to improve both presentation and technical skills.

Job Requirements:
- This position is a remote position
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s/Ph.D. degree in a relevant field such as: Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Biology, Biochemistry), Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or, Related disciplines
- Previous internship experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare setting is a plus but not mandatory.
- Academic projects involving data analysis, statistical modeling, or programming can be beneficial.
- Statistical Programming: Familiarity with statistical programming languages such as SAS and R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Data Management: Basic understanding of data handling techniques, including data cleaning, transformation, and validation.
- Knowledge of CDISC Standards: Understanding of ADaM and ADPPK CDISC models is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in data handling and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and presentation of findings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Initiative and self-motivation to undertake independent projects and drive them to completion.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Openness to feedback and willingness to learn from peers and mentors.
- Commitment: Availability for the full duration of the 12-week internship program.
- Regulatory Awareness: Basic understanding of regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.
Internship Eligibility
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
- The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 22nd) or (June 16th - August 29th)
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
- Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
