Job Description
The Global Oncology Expanded Access Team within Global Medical Affairs Oncology is responsible for providing access to Takeda innovative and unlicensed medicines for patients with serious or life-threatening conditions who have exhausted all other options.
The Expanded Patient Access Manager, Global Medical Affairs Oncology is responsible for leading and managing complex research projects that focus on global oncology expanded access and sustainability. This role aims to improve operations and provide insights that support business decisions, contributing to Takeda's mission of bringing better health to people and a brighter future to the world.
How You Will Contribute:
- Lead and manage research project/paper with mentorship from supportive and knowledgeable team
- Conduct targeted literature search and company-wide stakeholder interviews to provide recommendations for improvements
- Apply advanced knowledge in public health
- Inform and present to leadership on potential global access policy change
- Independently conducts clinical research and guides improvements in complex scenarios.
- Applies advanced knowledge in public health to improve methodologies and guide others.
- Handles highly complex literature reviews, makes improvement recommendations, and guides others in the process.
- Applies health policies and bioethics to complex situations, makes improvement recommendations, and guides others.
- Analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in global oncology patient access a to support business decisions.
- As a developing professional, you specialize in solving various complex problems, sometimes referring to established precedents and policies. Your work involves analyzing literature, applying knowledge of public health and bioethics, while collaborating with supportive senior professionals in the field. You possess a curiosity of global oncology expanded access, industry practices, with a desire to improve access to patients globally. You often work independently under general direction, interacting with collaborative senior internal and external personnel. You are energized by developing new insights alongside the Global Oncology Expanded Access Team that could inform policy impacting patients globally

Job Requirements:
- This is a hybrid position located in Cambridge, MA
- Master of Science candidate in Public Health, Regulatory, Bioethics, Pharmaceutical Management, or relevant area
- Experience conducting and writing research papers
- Experience building effective networks to achieve project goals
- Bioethics or philosophy coursework is a plus
- Highly effective communications skills – written and verbal
- Flexibility, tolerance and diplomacy in identifying opportunities for process improvement with significant organizational impact
- Excels in verbal communication, able to articulate complex concepts clearly and adapt messaging for various audiences.
Internship Eligibility
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
- The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
- Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

Boston, MAU.S. Hourly Wage Range:
$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
Paid sick time

Access to on-site fitness center (where available)
Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
