Job Description
The summer internship program will provide a broad understanding of the various roles and responsibilities within Medical Affairs. The internship will provide training activities that support company goals as well as developmental opportunities through broad-based hands-on experiences and mentorships which will integrate the interns into various medical strategic initiatives. Interns will gain experience within a focused Takeda therapeutic area through field medical teams and gain exposure to field medical excellence to focus on leadership and career development. Upon completion, the interns will understand and be prepared for the challenges of a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
How You Will Contribute:
Drive solutions and new opportunities our field medical teams
Train as a core member of the Medical Affairs team to assist in providing accurate, fair-balanced, evidence-based information to internal and external customers.
Train with cross-functional teams to assist with the execution of the strategic medical/research plans.
Provide solutions for Medical Affairs that help drive medical strategy and tactics for the organization
Engage in cross-functional collaboration, creating a strategic framework, engaging others for gaps and needs assessment, presenting to stakeholders, and additional competencies to ensure success
Contribute to multidisciplinary teams and build relationships across departments and functions (e.g., research, health economics and outcomes research, clinical drug development, marketing)
Internship Development Opportunities
Gain insight into the various roles within Medical Affairs and other functional groups.
Support the field medical team through various activities, training, and initiatives that are strategically aligned with medical priorities.
Develop strong literature searching skills and critically evaluate published and unpublished clinical data.
Improve written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
In addition, the intern, in consultation with the internship supervisor, will develop and present one structured presentation relevant to internship activities.
Job Requirements:
This position is a remote position
Applicants must be a graduate level student pursuing either a PharmD, PhD, or Master’s degree.
Experience performing searches of medical and scientific literature
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Excellent leadership, oral, and written communication skills, teamwork, and professionalism are required for all internship positions

Internship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 22nd) or (June 16th - August 29th)
The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

Massachusetts - VirtualU.S. Hourly Wage Range:
$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
Paid sick time

Commuter Benefit: To offset your work-commute expenses, Takeda provides U.S. employees with a fixed monthly subsidy to be used for either public transportation (transit) or parking.
