Principal Analyst / Specialist - SAP Security Lead

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • As the Lead SAP Security, youwill be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing data security safe guarding company data in today’s fast-changing challenges and Enterprise Securityneeds.

  • Youwillalso work withsap security consultant, ensuring best practices and fosteringdevelopmentwithin the team. Youwill work closely with ourPlatform Lead and across SAP modules with the various SAP teams to ensureintegrationacrossvariousareas.Support the development and definition of the strategy for the product line capabilities by proactively identifying changes in business and the technology landscape, that would impact the ERP portfolio and developments through the lifecycle (SAP ECC, SAP S/4 Hana, SAP Cloud Platform). 

  • Ensure integrated design, build and deployment and operations of responsible product line. Ensure that dependencies are understood, managed and communicated. 

  • Ensure business continuity through operational and service excellence of responsible product lines.Work with internal teams and customer service to identify,classify, and prioritize feature-level customer issues.

  • Partner with leaders within the business and countries, possess strong knowledge of both business and technology, to drive SAP Security solutions to harmonization, optimization and operational excellence of the ERP Support Services.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement SAP security policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Manage SAP user accounts, roles, and authorizations to ensure appropriate access control.

  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identifyvulnerabilities.

  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to maintain compliance with regulatory standards suchas SOX and GDPR.

  • Implement and leverage SAP GRC solutions for effective governance and compliance management.

  • Monitor SAP systems for security incidents and lead incidentresponseefforts.

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensuresuccessful security audits.

  • Stay updated on SAP security patches and applythemasnecessary.

  • Provide training and support to staff on SAP security protocols and practices.

  • Prepare regular security reports for management review.

  • Conduct system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the implementedsolutions, verifyingconfiguration settings.

  • Lead resolution of complexproblems with a global impact on the business and identifyopportunities to streamline business and/or layered system processes and ensuredelivered work meets technical, functional, performance and business requirementsaswellas best practices.

  • Activelyengage with the release and engagement teams, major programsensuringactive adoption and deployment of product line capabilities. Support active engagements and continuousimprovementasrequired.

  • Ensurealignment with Business ProcessOwners and IT Platform Partners to drive engagement, prioritization and deployment support across the respectiveareas.

  • Train junior consultants and actively hand over knowledge to other team members.

CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE

User and Role Management: UnderstandingSAP’s user and rolearchitecture, includingcreating and managing users, roles, and authorizations.

  • Authorization Concepts: Knowledge of SAP authorization concepts and profiles, includingtransactioncodes and authorizationobjects.

  • Compliance and Audit: Familiarity with compliance standards suchas SOX, GDPR, and how to prepare for and conduct audits.

  • Security Policies and Best Practices: Developing and implementing security policies, along with following best practices for SAP security.

  • Risk Management: Identifyingpotential security risks and implementingmitigation strategies.

  • System Monitoring and Management: Utilizing tools for monitoring system performance and detectingunauthorized access.

  • Knowledge of SAP GRC: Experience with SAP Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions for managingregulatory compliance and policies.

  • IncidentResponse: Ability to respond to security incidentseffectively, includinginvestigation and resolution techniques.

  • Collaboration Skills: Working with various teams suchas IT, audit, and business units to ensure security compliance and address security issues.

  • Continuous Learning: Stayingupdated with the latest SAP security updates, patches, and industrytrends

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Major expertise/Experience in SAP Security.

  • Some expertise/experience in overall SAP module security layers.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a bonus

  • Experience with leadingteams

  • Ability to lead, train, motivate and develop assigned functional team

  • Clear reporting and communication back to company leadership and collaboration teams

  • Identification of the risks, proposal of mitigation activities and focus on resolution

  • Innovation vision and ability to define a team strategy for future engagements

  • Experience in defining opportunities, problems, challenges and derive action or mitigation plans

  • Experience in assessing complex situations, state problems and drive the generation of solutions

  • Good understanding of how to evaluate costs and benefits, or pros and cons of IT Services

  • Experience in driving the selection of the best possible solution

  • Attitude for active collaboration with business and IT stakeholders on any organizational level

  • Skills to motivate team members to deliver the best for the company

Innovation

  • Good experience in design thinking to derive innovation opportunities 

  • Experience in cutting edge technologies and the innovation they deliver

Complexity

(Track record in product management (ideally in a SAP ECC and S/4 Hana)

  • Experience in a multi-cultural and large enterprise

Must have skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Commerce or equivalent.

  • Previous working experienceasconsultant from other big global IT companies.

  • Working experience from major consulting companies focusing on implementation of SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA.

  • Historic track atleast from 2+ full SAP Life-cycleImplementations (ECC, S/4 HANA).

  • Minimum of 8-10years of practical consulting experience in SAP Security with focus on SAP roles and user administrations.

  • Minimum of 3-4years of practical consulting experience in System Administration, Configuration management, landscapesRole Administration, Portal 

  • Understanding of EDI basedcommunication/ interfaces

  • Database Management: Maintaining the database, data archiving, and transport management.

  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Continuously monitoring the system and tuning for optimal performance.

  • SAP Fiori: A fundamentalunderstanding of SAP Fiori and itsintegration with S/4HANA

  • Practicalexperience with direct procurement relatedmigrationobjects or building migration strategy assuch.

  • Good understanding of technical architecture and integrationbetween ECC/S/4 HANA and Hana DB.

  • Ability to govern the solution, deploy the solution and train the others in yourfunctional stream.

  • Ability to overall SAP Security support operations.

  • Ability to work in different time zones, for certainperiod of time ifrequired.

  • Fluent in English and good communication skills.

Nice to haveskills and experience:

  • Certification in SAP Security or relatedareas.

  • Experience with SAP ECC S/4 Hanasecurity modules.

  • SAP Hana Database Administration

  • Proven track record in managing security for large and complex SAP environments.

  • SAP Fiori and SAP Portal knowledge isadvantages

  • Experience with SDLC methodology, including tasks like develop test cases, execute test plans, log defects, developfunctional design specificationsincluding workflow, validation, and logicrequirements

  • Support Management following ITIL processstandards.
