Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consistently Enhance Corporate Brand Reputation
- Design and implement communication strategies, projects, or campaigns aligned with Takeda China’s strategic direction to continuously enhance the company’s brand influence both internally and externally; constantly assess and improve communication strategies, processes, and systems.
- Develop communication plans for Takeda China’s President and management aligned with the strategic direction, including but not limited to media interviews and summit speeches, to shape thought leadership within the industry.
- Provide professional consultancy to top management regarding corporate image, communication principles at top management levels, and the impact of the social environment on business operations.
- Act as the first point of contact between external audiences and the corporation, handling sensitive issues diplomatically where first impressions, accuracy, and quick judgment are crucial.
- Propose communication tools and channels to create momentum and awareness while testing the effectiveness of communication activities.
Product Lifecycle Communication
- Develop communication plans for products at various lifecycle stages, including but not limited to new product approvals and reimbursement access, to strengthen Takeda’s leadership in therapeutic areas.
- Enhance public education through disease awareness campaigns in collaboration with KOLs and patient organizations.
Internal Communication Strategies and Execution
- Build continuous and active communication channels between management and employees, such as town halls, newsletters, annual meetings, and leadership forums. Align with Takeda China’s strategic focus and employees’ developmental needs to improve engagement and organizational cohesion.
Media Relations and Crisis Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with key medical, health, and financial media outlets; optimize external social media strategies and integrate media resources to amplify the impact of brand communication, ensuring the public stays informed about Takeda’s positive developments.
- Build an effective communication monitoring system; analyze multi-dimensional interaction data, lead real-time impact assessments, and forecast for critical public opinion events to safeguard the company’s public image.
- Act as the first point of contact for external communication, anticipating and resolving crises to protect corporate image and interests.
CSR and ESG
- Coordinate and integrate ESG sustainability frameworks and CSR initiatives, such as ongoing support for continuing education for doctors in remote areas (e.g., Yunnan), to strengthen the corporate brand’s credibility and establish a responsible industry-leading corporate image.
Provide Guidance, Coaching, and Career Development Opportunities
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth, assisting team members in realizing their potential within the organization.
- Possessing a leader’s long-term vision, taking the mission of supporting team members to grow and achieve success together.
Ensure 100% Compliance in Project Execution
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations or Communication field
- 10+ years of overall communications experience with a minumum of 5 years “in-house” leadership role in a complex entity
- Outstanding communication skills in both Chinese and English (Japanese is a plus), with the ability to clearly articulate and connect with people from diverse cultures and levels, both in writing and speaking.
- Master-level presentation and public speaking skills with confidence in addressing both large and small groups.
- A creative, strategic thinker who is also pragmatic and hands-on in execution; strong planning and priority-setting skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to influence and persuade all levels of the organization through strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Established network of contacts among senior/influential media, industry associations, and opinion leaders in China.
- Proven track record as an implementer who excels at managing various key initiatives concurrently.
- High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to act as a unifying force and position communication initiatives at strategic and tactical levels.
- Sincere commitment to collaborative work with all stakeholders, including staff, management teams, program participants, and supporters.
- Proficiency in utilizing AI tools to enhance work efficiency is preferred.
