ROLE OBJECTIVE

The Demand and Supply Planning Senior Analyst is accountable for managing the statistical forecast and collaborating with the Canada commercial franchise, commercial planning, finance and others to ensure the proper demand signal/forecast is being submitted for Canada brands. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing a framework that maximizes customer service level, reduces inventory levels, improves forecast accuracy, and reduces product discards in Canada.

SCOPE

Keyaccountabilities

Planning

  • Forecast accuracy / Customer Service Level target setting: Define, set, deploy & drive improvement of core Global Supply Chain KPIs “Forecast Accuracy & CSL” in alignment with the Region

  • Demand forecast & analytics: Develop & provide demand forecast & analytics to LOCs with the goal to improve overall forecast accuracy.

  • Demand Planning: Drive actual performance review and statistical forecast to develop baseline forecast to be reviewed with commercial organization while maintaining the demand signal in planning tool.  Facilitate monthly review and document assumptions/agreement to signal.   Support to Canadian Business Units as defined (Neuroscience, Rare Disease, Oncology, Gastrointerology)

  • New Product Introductions Partner with Regional launch leads to support the development and planning of related Product Introductions.

  • Supply planning: Support internal customer-facing activities with the Canada Commercial teams, including supply and demand reviews, and the S&OP process.

  • Inventory planning: Facilitate local inventory planning aligned with defined targets; steer local inventory management & facilitate issue resolution if required. Conducts daily/weekly inventory delivery/receipt reconciliations with manufacturing plants and Logistics

  • Inventory Obsolescence Aged/Expiry/Discontinuation

    • Working with planning peers and commercial teams on exit strategies and providing recommendations to address excess product.

    • Partnership with owner of the operational plan to execute change for the region.

  • Inventory Capacity and Product Flow

    • Analyze shut-down impacts, and disruptions of inventory flow of upstream supply chain (from manufacturing to warehouse).

    • Work with team to formulate capacity solutions with peers.

    • Serves as Demand & Supply planning subject matter expert representing the franchises within designated product groups.

  • Canada S&OP participation and issue resolution: participate and provide input into the regional S&OP process including demand & supply consolidation

  • Master Data and Supply Chain Management

    • Product Life Cycle/Code Maintenance Ownership – coordinate new item set-up, discontinuation, replacement.

    • Ensure accurate product master data and product flows for Canadian SKUs

  • Align with Customer Service/Canada Logistics

    • Provide information on supply to properly plan and meet service level goals.

    • Manage hospital distribution networks.

  • Ability to analyze issues, prepare recommendations, and facilitate decision making on a regional level with commercial and OPU’s

Interaction

  • Coordinate with the Commercial teams, OPU’s and Supply Chain team members to ensure proper forecast signal is provided

  • Regional Demand Planners: Escalate local/ regional S&OP issues

  • Regional/Global Business Services: Escalate local/ regional IT issues; provide input to IT requirements regarding forecasting and inventory

  • LOC/franchise SCM: Steer/ guide demand planning, and operationalization of GSC standards & guideline

  • Regional GMS: Ensure alignment on key GSC KPIs, escalate issues & provide input to issue resolution

  • Regional Commercial: Ensure alignment on key GSC KPIs, escalate issues & provide input to issue resolution

Innovation

  • Ability to look for creative solutions to complex situations to ensure no supply disruption as a result of the forecast

  • Willing to leverage technology to drive process excellence and improve supply chain responsiveness

  • Able to manage ambiguity, find pragmatic solutions & align/influence with key stakeholders

  • Capability to manage and recommend solutions for highly complex supply chain issues with various stakeholders & cultures

  • Ability to train others on the Takeda S&OP and planning processes, measure performance and make recommendations to improve business results

Preferred Experience and Education

  • BS/BA Business or in relevant field including Supply Chain education.

  • 5+ years of Planning experience (prefer Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical Industry experience) with minimal 3 years in business analytics role.

  • Fundamental knowledge of Supply Chain, as well as Supply/Demand relationship

  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian Supply Chain and Hospital Supply Chain

  • Willing to leverage technology, data or digital solutions to drive process excellence and improve supply chain responsiveness

  • Aptidude for digital and technology adoptions and growth mindset for data drived solutions

  • Must have excellent business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills to build strong business cases for change.

  • Ability to think strategically and increase effectiveness at achieving overall strategies

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues and topics

  • Ability to establish a high degree of accountability through both performance measurement and clear communications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate the extended team for maximum productivity

  • Strong MS Excel/PowerPoint and Demantra, SAP, QlikView and other similar systems experience required Strong business acumen & financial analytics skill
