Job Description
Job Title: Virtualization Engineer Hosting
Location: Covington, GA (Hybrid)
About the Role:
As a Virtualization Engineer Hosting, you will offer specialized expertise and carry out site-specific activities and services to present manufacturing applications to Shopfloor users. You will provide feedback to the Service Management of the Chapter and serve as a local partner for operations and project deliveries. You will handle administrative privileges on all managed and supporting systems. You will report to the Director, IT Business Partner.
How you will contribute:
Focus on OT Hosting services by Chapter assignment, but occasionally to cover topics of other functional Chapters.
Operate CIM Hosting Infrastructure Services on GMSGQ sites, following global CIM standards and procedures.
Represent the CIM Hosting team at site, with higher scoped role also in all time zones and regions, collaborating with local and global teams.
Partner within Data Digital and Technologies (DD&T) and CIM chapters to support defining/evolving standards and site level deliveries.
Hold interfacing service providers accountable within the service operations processes.
Run continuous monitoring and improvement.
Build and upgrade OT Hosting environments.
Maintain the CIM OT Hosting inventory in Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
Provide consulting and support for site specific and global projects and initiatives.
Operate and run the Incident Resolution and Change/Problem Management activities related to OT Hosting, and support on Incident Resolution and Change/Problem Management for the other chapter in collaboration.
Work in a global, 24x7, and follow-the-sun organization once platforms are standardized and ensure new way of working.
Provide input about lessons learned and suggest improvements across all CIM chapters.
Design, build, and maintain virtualization infrastructures for large enterprises.
Work with diverse types of operating systems to install and configure them on virtual machines (VMs).
Develop disaster recovery plans for data centers.
Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies.
Manage the physical infrastructure of data centers where virtual machines are hosted.
Recommend changes to existing virtualization solutions to improve performance or meet new business requirements.
Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization of the virtualization infrastructure.
Manage user access and permissions in vCenter Server and ESXi hosts.
Deploy and manage virtual machines, templates, and snapshots.
Configure and manage high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery solutions.
Monitor the virtualization infrastructure for capacity utilization/planning and issues.
Develop/implement security hardening standards based on given best practices.
Stay up to date on the latest VMware technologies and features.
Troubleshoot virtualization infrastructure issues.
Write and maintain documentation for the virtualization infrastructure.
Provide subject matter expert support for virtualization infrastructure issues.
Manage infrastructure environments hosted on cloud services.
What you bring to Takeda:
Knowledge of networks, especially in the area of OT production and laboratory environments
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration with focus manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent experience required.
5 years' experience.
IT/OT experience in providing services to a Manufacturing and/or Laboratory environment, ideally 5 years' experience in OT domain, and knowledge about Industrial Control Systems would be ideal.
Experience running IT projects in a global environment.
Set priorities and manage the needs of multiple partners.
Certifications would be ideal.
Experience of the fundamentals of VMware ESX and related technologies.
Experience and knowledge of the fundamentals of server and storage hardware technologies (e.g., Cisco UCS, HPe Bladesystem, Tintri storage, Dell Unity storage)
Experience in design, deployment, and management of a VMware server environment, including integration with SAN technologies (e.g., VSAN, SAN, NAS, iSCSI, etc.), virtual networking (e.g., VLANs, VPNs, etc.) and deployment automatization (e. g. VRA).
Proficiency in VMware associated programs and coding languages, such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN architecture, WebSphere, Citrix, Python, and C++
Experience with converged infrastructure system (Cisco UCS).
Knowledge of cloud technologies and services would be required.
Solid knowledge of installing/configuring/maintaining Backup solutions on different Hardware or virtual environments (e. g. Dell IDPA, Dell Avamar, Dell DataDomain, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Commvault)
VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) would be ideal.
Solid knowledge with technical troubleshooting, system recovery, root cause analysis and remediation which involves coordination of vendors and remote technical staff.
Solid knowledge of Unix/Linux/Windows/VMWare environments to develop/maintain/support backup needs according to best practices in a datacenter environment.
Solid knowledge of status/capacity reporting using the available tools (e. g. Dell DPA, NetBackup OpsCenter)
Knowledge of systems monitoring following preventive actions for sustainable system availability
Knowledge of networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, VLANs and UDPT
Oversee and mentor other technical personnel whenever is required.
Support others in the change management process.

Ability to read and speak in English language fluently.
Participate in On-Call duty shifts providing after business hours support and working during scheduled maintenance weekends.

67,900.00 - 106,700.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
