The  DD&T India Leader role is a key leader in the organization and will partner with LOC Leadership and the extended Data, Digital and IT leadership. Incumbent is expected and encouraged to develop a deep understanding of Takeda’s business. At the forefront for success in this role is the ability to effectively balance a two-speed environment: the new world of innovation enabled by rapidly changing technology, and the established world of defect-free, stable execution. A deep understanding of our business imperatives is paramount and needs to be balanced with thoughtful and creative disruption through digital technologies and contemporary data analytics capabilities.

This role is instrumental in providing holistic technology solutions, enabled by data and accelerated by digital, to enhance and complement business investments and ultimately the company’s growth and strategic imperatives.

  • This role leads the LOC Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) team in supporting India and is directly accountable to execute the overall strategy and innovation.
  • Develop and implement contemporary and thoughtful strategies that enable and bring to life our Data and Digital and technology Imperative to fully and creatively unlock the power and potential of the organization
  • Accelerate and enhance the partnership with our businesses to leverage and create collaboration and acceleration at scale
  • Be a talent attractor, developing and cultivating a followership of technical professionals that embrace change and embed digital technologies into the support and advice offered

How you will contribute: 

Strategy and Innovation

  • Leverage Global/GPD Data, Digital & Technology strategy, by aligning LOC DD&T goals and needs that can be addressed through digital and analytics use cases, supported by technology and data
  • Ensure LOC needs influence shared product, service and platform backlogs managed by Global CDTO org, balancing LOC and enterprise value 
  • Highlight use cases with cross-BU potential via DD&T Board, increasing impact of LOC initiatives across the enterprise
  • Drive delivery of DD&T strategy, with focus on business value, leveraging LOC and Group CDTO org resources
  • Drive LOC DD&T innovation, incentivizing data and digital proofs of concept (fail fast, learn faster); fund high-potential use cases

Delivery and Execution

  • Steward LOC DD&T budget, with TCO perspective and optimizing for LOC value (while driving adherence to standards)
  • Ensure LOC adherence to architecture standards (set by Architecture Council) and data standards (set by Global Data Council)
  • Build and manage high-performing and fit for purpose LOC DD&T team with strategic roles that require proximity to end user / business;
  • Promote transparency into LOC DD&T agenda to the DD&T Board and Architecture Council, incl. identifying opportunities for cross-BU collaboration and reuse
  • Increase digital and analytics literacy of LOC talent through targeted capability building and drive adoption of DD&T offerings
  • Ensure LOC DD&T talent follows “internal-first” sourcing approach, adheres to global DD&T job families and roles

Technical/Functional Expertise:

  • DD&T executive, highly skilled in stakeholder management with history of successful people leadership across functions and domains
  • Deep understanding of LOC needs and technology environment, and experience in aligning business needs and technical capabilities
  • Track record in leading DD&T talent and delivering major projects / programs
  • Strong understanding of external business environment and industry trends

What you bring to Takeda: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years experience, with strong analytical, project management, presentation and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of the health science industry, macro trends, and how health science companies operate across the value chain is preferred.
  • Understanding of how modern technologies can be applied and sourced to add business value in regulated industries with a track record of measurable success will also be considered.
